Love capturing the fun but hate editing videos? If you’re anything like me, then you have countless videos on your camera and smartphone just waiting to be edited. I’ll admit, I hate editing videos but there’s a new camera that may turn that all around.
Meet Graava! Graava is a new type of connected camera for a time when videos are the way we share our experiences – it’s smart enough that you’ll alway want it with you and small enough that it can. Smaller than a pack of Tic Tacs, the device was designed by Max Burton and his team at Matter Design. The device films at Full HD and automatically identifies the best moments to create video clips ready to watch and share on social media without requiring manual uploading and editing by the user.
How Graava Works:
Brilliant Auto Editing: Graava uses built-in sensors — image sensor, microphone, accelerometer, and GPS and can also pair with 3rd party heart rate monitors — to identify the best or most exciting moments while you are filming.
Social Sharing Feature: Using the Graava app, you are able to select your social media channels for a particular video clip and the app will automatically set the right time for it and publish with the touch of a button – so, for example, you have a 6-second clip for Vine or 15-second for Instagram.
Sync Footage From Multiple Graavas: The device knows when you are shooting a video with more than one Graava camera by comparing data from the onboard GPS and your phone, so if your friends also have a Graava, it can take footage from multiple perspectives and compile one video for you.
Sync Audio With Video: Select your favorite song and Graava will edit the video to match the beat of your music.
Wireless Charging: You never have to hassle with wires again, simply drop your camera on the wireless charging mat after a day of shooting and your footage is sent to the cloud
Film Longer: Graava shoots continuously for up to 3 hours on a single charge
Graava is now available for pre-sale purchase at discounted pricing of $249 and with a standard retail price of $399. Graava is slated to start shipping in early 2016. To learn more and pre-order Graava now at a discounted price go to getgraava.com.
A camera that automatically records, edits and shares videos may just change the way share our favorite memories forever — and I’m all for it! What about you? Are you willing to explore a new mobile cam like Graava in the near future? Share your thoughts below!

NEWS FLASH: The summer is quickly flying by and so are those amazing summer memories that you’ve captured on your smartphone. Why not do something cool with all your amazing photos and videos (I mean besides uploading them to Instagram) and create awesome videos with the press of a button?
Say hello to Magisto!
This summer, I’ve been using my new favorite video app Magisto, to do just that. Like magic, Magisto turns your smartphone photos and videos into an amazing montage of memories with music, video transitions and more.
Magisto makes things simple with two large buttons that let you either start shooting a new video or jump straight to your Gallery to sift through existing videos. If you choose to shoot a new video, Magisto jumps to its in-app recorder, which allows you to switch between front-facing and rear-facing cameras. Each time you start and stop recording, your new clip will be saved for use. You can see what clips you’ve recorded, and easily delete any that you don’t want to include in your final compilation video. Once you’re done recording, you can hit Next to begin selecting any other media you might want to include in your final edit. The video picker interface lets you look through files in your media library. All you have to do is pick the items you want to include in your final edit and let Magisto find the interesting parts to edit together. Magisto gives you 12 different themes to choose from. There are specialized themes for holidays, as well as more general themes like Street Beats and Sentimental. Each theme comes with a few different soundtrack options, or you can upload your own music for random use throughout your movie. Finally, when you’re done with all your files and settings, you can upload your video to Magisto’s servers for editing. Check out one of my first Magisto edited videos HERE or discover the latest video I created and uploaded to Instagram below…
If you sign up for a free Magisto account, you can only upload up to 16 video files, and 5 photos for your final movie, (which is limited to 60 seconds). There’s a drawback though. As a free user, you can’t download your edited movie to your phone. You can only share your masterpiece movie via a link to your video via YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and e-mail. (You can tag people in your videos if you connect your Facebook account) But in order to share to Instagram, you’ll have to upgrade to a premium account which is $4.99/ month you can pay $0.99 per movie download.
So if you’re like me and keep tons of photos and videos on your smartphone and no time to sift through and edit them all, you need to check out Magisto to keep your memories forever! Download Magisto today for your Apple or Android device via iTunes, Google Play and Amazon stores.
Do you use photo or video editing apps on your phone? Which smart apps do you use for editing and keeping memories fresh for the summer? Share your thoughts below.
Every year, an oasis of new media thinkers, music lovers and film fans migrate to Austin, Texas for an amazing week of learning, entertainment and more – this is known as South By Southwest. The SXSW 2014 festival hosts over a week of entertaining keynotes, sessions, film premiers and concerts and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
Just what am I looking forward to at SXSW 2014?
There are tons of sessions for entrepreneurs, techies and social media savants to choose from. Just a few of the Interactive sessions I’m excited to learn from highlight Black Social TV talks and even tackle the subject of the Black Twitterverse jumping into the Startup life and being a real woman in a new media world. I’m beyond excited to catch up with friends and make new connections during my SXSW Interactive experience in Austin.
One of the most entertaining moments of SXSW take place during many of the first look film screenings. This year, I’m looking forward to attending the screening of the Jimi Hendrix biopic, “JIMI: All Is By My Side” starring Andre (3000) Benjamin as the iconic Jimi Hendrix. With celebrity lead talks from the likes of Mike Myers, Tilda Swinton, Jason Bateman and more – the film sessions and screenings will be another huge highlight of the entire SXSW experience.
While I’m not exactly certain what new music and musicians I’ll discover this year, I will say that the likes of Prince, Jay Z and others have graced Austin during the SXSW festival and this year is sure to be no different. I mean, last year I literally bumped into Macklemore while in the city streets of Austin and a year later he’s one of music biggest stars to date! With performances by NAS, SchoolBoy Q, Bridgette Kelley and Slaughterhouse already scheduled the surprise performances will only heighten the musical expectations for the year. The SXSW music festival of shows will definitely be the grand closing of my Austin experience and I can’t wait to see what musical experience it holds.
Can’t make it to Austin for SXSW this year? Don’t Worry! Catch all the SXSW fun and get a unique Austin experience with “Austin Uncovered”. The “Austin: Uncovered” web series highlights all best that SXSW has to uncover, plus the best in food, sights and entertainment that you can find in Austin all year long — and it’s hosted by me! [Sponsorships Available]
