Wild Shoe Wednesday: Rodarte’s Medieval-Inspired Spring 2013 Collection

September 26th, 2012 by Fashion Staff

Rodarte has stolen our hearts with the shoes from their Spring 2013 collection. This chunky heel platform sandal that hits at the ankle came in a variety of brilliant colors to tantalize our senses and stimulate our fashion eye.

Yellow, grey, and black with a reflective metallic patch on the front graced a pair of heels while a softer, more feminine peach color paired with black and metal hardware on a strap right above the toes exposes more of the foot.

This is the perfect shoe for looks that has a lot more edge and creativity behind them seeing as that they were featured in a collection inspired by dungeons and dragons. Does this futuristic shoe have a future gracing your fashion-forward closet? Sound off below and let us know.

DIVA Kit Essentials That You Need In Your Closet NOW!

December 22nd, 2011 by Christen

Every woman owns pieces that showcase & celebrates their individual style, grace and beauty.  From furs to stilettos and everything in between you can find some of everything in a woman’s diva kit.  In celebration of VH1’s Divas Celebrate Soul television special, Essence Magazine recently published a blog breaking down the diva kit or the essential fashion staples you need to tap into your inner diva.  Check out a few of these notions and let us know what you think…

The multiple wardrobe changes of Jennifer Hudson

Multiple Wardrobe Changes

A diva must have several outfit changes to suit every occasion. At the ‘VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul’ event Jennifer Hudson had a total of four fabulous outfit changes in one night. From left: The Blonds crystal gown, Francesco Scognamiglio mini-dress and thigh high boots, The Blonds bustier mini, and Dolce & Gabbana mini fringe dress.

In real life, (that’s without a stylist and entourage…) I could see owning a staple dress that can be worn multiple ways.  Like the LBD (aka The Little Black Dress).  The one staple that should be in every woman’s Diva Kit, including yours…

The Kardashians are known for sporting a LBD or two...

A good boot always makes a statement...

The Thigh High Boot

There’s something about the thigh high boot that gives a girl a Wonder Woman quality, and since a diva is a super woman, these are essential. To the left, Jennifer Hudson wears Francesco Scognamiglio crystal encrusted boots, and Blige, Christian Dior Guetre Alligator boots.

A good boot always makes a statement, and it doesn’t have to cost you a car payment either…

Steve Madden Neley thigh high boot, $129.

Bold & Sleek it's a great fashion piece in the clutch!

The clutch is sleek and chic, which is what a diva embodies. Lose the bulky shoulder bag and keep it minimal. I’m absolutely a fan of the clutch, but when it comes down to packing the size makes sure you carry the essentials and the essentials only. (so pack light…)

Lulu Townsend jeweled feather framed clutch, $40.

Versace Spring 12′ Heels…The NEW Stripper Stiletto?

September 26th, 2011 by Christen

There’s just something about a see-through heel that no matter how you dress it up, it still screams striptease….

Maybe that’s the look that Dontella Versace wanted to go for when she accompanied her Versace Spring 12′ designs during her runway show in Milan…

The designs are fierce and fabulous and are sure to grace the red carpet of some of Hollywood’s hot young starlets next year…but those shoes…

…Not so much…

There’s not enough laser cutting or bedazzling in this shoe to make a lucite heel appealing…

Would You Rock A Clear Heel Next Spring?

Do You Own A Pair Of Lucite Stilettos?

September 22nd, 2011 by Fashion Staff

Hey, we’re a day late – but better late than never right?  As our gift to you we’re bringing you some of the nicest heels to walk down the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week runways.  From neutrals to asymmetrical designs and everything in between the heels featured during the Vera Wang Spring 2012 runway show were far from normal stilettos and are sure to make you stop in your tracks once you see them heel-to-face.

Are those laser-cut leather platform heels?  Yes, but wait – there’s more…

Time for a closer look…

…aaaaaaand this is why these beige geometric platforms RULE!

With heel wrapping straps and and leather stitching throughout – Can you guess which starlet will be snapped in these first?

Fashion Yay/Fashion Nay: August…

August 4th, 2010 by Christen

If you follow me on twitter (@iamx10) – you’ve probably have noticed that I love finding unique photos of shoes and then I seek them out (like an elusive unicorn!)

This week I’ve come across the elusive cowboy stiletto boot and these killer FIVE INCH booties, not sure what you think about them BUT I LOVE THEM.  (I’ve already grabbed one pair, now if I could get my hands on pair number two….hmmmm.)

What do you think? Fashion Yay or Fashion Nay?
