Remember when you couldn’t get enough of those masculine Micheal Kors designer time pieces? Michael Kors continues to be one of the most sought-after watch brands in the world; in North America alone, the company saw a 24% increase in sales and is still the time piece of choice for many.
I remember buying my first one, and then like a true addiction, I marched down to Macy’s Herald Square for my second and then the flagship store for my third watch. Wrist wear has evolved since then, with many opting for smartwatches and fitness trackers instead. But now, Michael Kors is making a big entrance into the wearables space with two sleek and beautiful Android Wear smartwatches: a beautiful gold-plated design for women and a sporty black one for men.
The smart timepieces run Android Wear, Google’s smartwatch platform, which means they can pair with both iPhones and Android phones. Like most smartwatches, they can display app notifications, fitness-tracking data, text alerts, email and social media updates, as well as other Google services, including voice-recognition software, available on the Android Wear platform.
The starting price for both is $395 and they’ll debut in department stores (and Michael Kors stores) in fall 2016. What do you think about these new designer smart watches? Would you buy a Michael Kors smart watch for yourself as a gift? Share your thoughts below!
I’ve always been obsessed with functional and fashionable gadgets, since childhood. My first stylish gadget was a pink smart watch with a flashlight & calculator that all my friends wanted to covet for themselves. Fast forward years later in a world where smart watches are being released every other day, it’s easy to get caught up in the hype of the latest and greatest in gadgets. But how do you know which smart watch is right for you?
A few months ago, I was introduced to Martian Watches and their latest award-winning innovation the Notifier watch that was released in stores last month. Now that I have one on my wrist, it’s like my Girl Scouts moments all over again but this time it’s never coming off.
Check out why I’m in love with the new Martian Notifier smart watch below.
Simple style: The Martian Notifier is a classic analog watch with a simplistic feel that’s far from simple. The interchangeable bands keep up with my ever-changing style or I can keep it simple and monochromatic with my all-black timepiece that’ll go with everything!
The Martian Notifier is an attractive, colorful analog wristwatch with an integrated OLED readout that acts as a hands-free gateway to the world, keeping you well informed while your phone remains in a pocket, purse or backpack. This unique smartwatch gives you the ability to receive real-time alerts and notifications on your wrist. Used in conjunction with the free Martian Notifier App, you will automatically receive notifications — including Caller ID, texts, Facebook, Twitter, Weather, Email, Calendar, Instagram, Pinterest, favorite games, bank alerts, fitness stats, and any other alert your device allows. You can also initiate voice commands on your smartphone’s speakerphone for uses such as “read text” while you’re on the move.
Function: A touch of a Notifier button activates your smartphone’s speakerphone, enabling hundreds of voice commands to control music, check a sports score, get directions, search the web, create a reminder or appointment, and more. You can also decline an incoming call, set silent vibrating alarms that only you will sense, get a once-an-hour tickler to remind you to take a break, turn on an LED light to see in a dark room, control your phone’s camera shutter, and more.
You can now find Martian Notifier at Best Buy, Target, Bloomingdales, and Meijer! For more information on the Martian Notifier smart watch visit MartianNotifier.com and connect on Facebook, Twitter andPinterest today.

Samsung has another device coming out!
Did you know? Samsung is making a smart watch. They openly announced the future product to Bloomberg News last week. Samsung is always in the tech news. Tech News – App Acquisition
Yahoo Agrees to Acquire Summly:
Yahoo has purchased the app Summly for a reported $30 million dollars. “Summly is a free, fast, convenient, and easy way to browse news articles, allowing you to quickly scan the news you want to see, before diving into the full article.” (summly.desk.com)
It received Apple’s Best App of 2012 award. It was created by Nick D’Aloision, who was 15 years old at the time. When introduced in November, the app had hundreds of thousands of downloads. After Yahoo scooped up the app they quickly closed it down to fine tune its specifications.
Tech News – New Popular App
On Instagram if you like a pic you see you hit the like button, if you don’t like the pic you move on. That simple. Now that is changing. Enter the Hater App. Yup. Express Yourself. NOT! Sometimes a piece of technology is created with good intentions and can spiral out of control and become a vehicle for being mean. People are using the app to hate on Facebook posts and other social media outlets. I hope that doesn’t happen. However, this app can serve a greater purpose for companies that want to test revamped or new product lines and have their customer base rate the products. That can be an awesome tool.
This is what the creator Jake Banks said about Hater App: “It’s basically like Instagram for everything you hate.” The app launched to much fanfare at SXSW’s Start-Up Village and offers users a personal stream for uploading or taking photos of things they dislike. Images may then be shared with the larger ‘Hater’ community, where they can be viewed by others for comments and feedback. That being said, it was never Banks’ intention to create an outlet for mindless negativity. “It doesn’t have to be so negative,” he says. “You might hate something so much you want to change it, which is the complete opposite of what happens when you ‘Like’ something.”
