Oprah’s Next Chapter With Kerry Washington & Shonda Rhimes

Speed to Oprah’s Next Chapter aired on Sunday, December 9, 2012: Enter Shonda Rhimes, network TV’s most successful African-American writer and producer with Washington and Judy Smith, DC’s infamous political fixer for inspiration. Three of the most powerful women in television. Each with an individual, yet similar look of power, professionalism, and femininity.
Millions tune in weekly to follow the intense pace, political chess games, tormented love triangle, and to peep Pope’s style. Two of the most powerful women in media — Oprah Winfrey and Arianna Huffington — are joining forces.
The two on Thursday launched “HuffPost OWN,” a new section on the Huffington Post website that will feature material from the Oprah Winfrey Network and Oprah.com. The new online destination will focus on lifestyle advice and personal inspiration.
Winfrey said she was “delighted to join the conversation” at the Huffington Post. In a blog post, Huffington said Winfrey is “made for the Internet,” given her qualities of engagement and authenticity.
There are now nearly six dozen niche sections on the Huffington Post.
Could The Microsoft Surface Be On Oprah’s ‘Favorite Things’ List This Year?

Amidst a nasty rumor that Apple declined to gift Oprah Winfery’s audience iPads during one of her last appearances years ago on The Oprah Winfrey show. A new tablet has made it’s way to the famed “Oprah’s Favorite Things” gift guide this year – the Microsoft Surface.
“It feels like a Mercedes-Benz to me, people!” gushes Oprah in the December issue of O, on newsstands Nov. 6. Her “Favorite Things 2012? list was released online Thursday.
“The full-size keyboard built right into the cover makes work easy, the very smart kickstand makes watching a movie or Skyping a friend a delight, the less than a pound-and-a-half weight makes a great alternative to a laptop,” she adds.
This is a HUGE endorsement for the Microsoft brand, and it’s sure to affect upcoming holiday sales for the Surface. Are you interested in the Surface now that it’s made Oprah’s “Favorite Things” list?
What Has Oprah, Jay-Z and 50 Cent Running To Facebook?

50 Cent’s Blackjack with Game Show Network (GSN) is a virtual casino, where Facebook users can challenge their friends or play the games dealer. ”I am excited to partner with GSN Digital on this venture to create an unparalleled social gaming experience for my fans,” 50 Cent explained to Hip-Hop Wired. “50 Cent’s Blackjack is filled with fun twists and innovative features that is sure to provide hours of entertainment.”
On the other hand, Jay-Z’s Empire will take more of a Sims-like approach where Facebook users can quite literally create their own empires as they work their way from “hustler, to entrepreneur, to business mogul.”
It’s a long way from the famous Jay-Z / Oprah interview in the heart of Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects – but even Oprah has gotten her hand into Facebook gaming creating a lane all her own. Oprah Winfrey Network and Oprah.com announced this week the launch of “Oprah’s Thank You Game” on Facebook facebook.com/owntv to spread gratitude around the world in an effort to thank half a billion people worldwide. The game launched in conjunction with the season finale of “Oprah’s Lifeclass: the Tour” (Monday, April 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) where Oprah discussed mastering the art of gratitude.
