In celebration of the release of The Hangover III, in theaters on May 23rd, DivasandDorks.com and Warner Bros. are teaming up for exclusive giveaway.
It’s been two years. Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha) are happily living uneventful lives at home. Tattoos have been lasered off, files purged. The last they heard from disaster-magnet Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong), he’d been tossed into a Thai prison and, with him out of the way, the guys have very nearly recovered from their nights prowling the seamy side of Las Vegas in a roofie’d haze, and being kidnapped, shot at, and chased by drug- dealing mobsters in Bangkok. The only member of the Wolfpack who’s not content is Alan (Zach Galifianakis). Still lacking a sense of purpose, the group’s black sheep has ditched his meds and given in to his natural impulses in a big way-which, for Alan, means no boundaries, no filters and no judgment-until a personal crisis forces him to finally seek the help he needs. And who better than his three best friends to make sure he takes the first step. This time, there’s no bachelor party. No wedding. What could possibly go wrong? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.]]
One way or another…it all ends here.

One lucky winner will be gifted with Hangover III prize pack including Duffel Bag,Toiletry “The Hangover 3 “Bag with Antiseptic Swabs, Aspirin, Lip Balm, Mints in Tin and Band-Aids, Alternate Apparel Henley, iPhone Case Bottle Opener, Next Level Ladies’ “The End.” Oatmeal V-Neck, The Hangover 3 Drink Tumbler, The Hangover 3 Foam/Mesh Trucker Hat, Aviator Sunglasses and Hangover Hollywood movie money, (which admits two movie patrons to see The Hangover III).

SXSW Film: ’12 O’Clock Boys’ – A Boy, His Bike And The Streets Of Baltimore
March 18th, 2013 by Christen
If you’ve ever been a fan of the gritty HBO series ‘The Wire’ then you’re familiar with how colorful the portrayals of Baltimore characters can be. A man, woman or child can easily stand out in a crowd based on their unique dialect, hairstyle or and even preference in attire. On March 10th, during the SXSW Film festival in Austin, Texas – an oddly attractive story about a boy, his bike and the streets of Baltimore premiered entitled ’12 O’Clock Boys’ – and left audiences intrigued with a young boy from West Baltimore they would have otherwise unknown.
Directed by Lotfy Nathan, ’12 O’Clock’ boys follows the growing dangerous pastime of dirt bike gangs in the inner cities (specifically Baltimore, MD).
“I was attending college in Baltimore and would see the dirt bike pack zoom by once in a while. Neither I nor anyone else in the protected bubble I was living in knew what they were about. I asked around and found that they congregated at Druid Hill Park on Sundays. I went there not knowing what to expect, but found that the riders were very receptive. I made some friends and went from there. Within about a year I was able to get in position to capture some very dynamic action coverage of the riders, thanks to a faction of the group called the WOWBOYZ, who I approached through YouTube after seeing how well they were able to keep up with the pack. They were veterans of the group, and they knew how to negotiate the chaos of following the group. In 2010 I met Pug and knew immediately that there was something very telling in his character, a young boy on the cusp of joining the group.”

Synopsis: The story follows Pug, a thirteen year old boy living on a dangerous Westside block of Baltimore, who has one goal in mind: to join the 12 O’Clock Boys; the notorious urban dirt-bike gang. Converging from all parts of the inner city, they invade the streets and clash with police, who are forbidden to chase the bikes for fear of endangering the public. Pug looks to the pack for mentorship, spurred by their dangerous lifestyle and deep bonds. He narrates their world as if explaining a dreamscape—an action-packed world full of power and freedom. The film captures this world with unprecedented intimacy as the riders themselves guide us into a culture few get to access. The film presents the pivotal years of change in a boy’s life growing up in one of the most dangerous and economically depressed cities in the United States.
If you were lucky to grow up in Inner City, USA – you’ll undoubtedly find familiarities scattered throughout the documentary that’ll leave you attached to several key characters in the film. Watching Pug grow in just the span of a few years from a young child to a pre-teen left audiences wondering, “What’s Pug up to now?”. Hopefully director Lotfy Nathan will create a follow up documentary that’ll keep us up to date with Pug, Coco and the 12 O’Clock boys.

Mary J. Blige and Angela Bassett Star in Lifetime’s Betty and Coretta
January 22nd, 2013 by Lifestyle StaffIt is said that behind every great man there is a strong woman. Whether behind, beside, or in front- there is an undeniably strong support system nearby to carry him through. As evident in the case of our president of the United States, First Lady Michelle Obama shows us that it takes tons of strength and courage to fill those shoes. Coretta Scott King and Betty Shabazz were those women for Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X. Lifetime has finally decided to tell how they kept the dream alive in Betty & Coretta.

The film, airing February 2, will take a look at these two women, their support groups, and the courage and strength they displayed during the Civil Rights Movement. Both women continued the fight that their husbands began after they were assassinated.

From the official Betty & Coretta website:
“Focusing on the extraordinary women behind the two men who would change history, “Betty & Coretta” tells the similar true stories of Coretta Scott King (Angela Bassett), wife of Dr. Martin Luther King (Malik Yoba) and Dr. Betty Shabazz (Mary J. Blige), wife of Malcolm X (Lindsay Owen Pierre). When their husbands were tragically assassinated, these two women not only inherited the mantle of the civil rights movement in America, each also found herself to be a single mother who had to find a way to raise and support her children with no husband or father, resulting in a relationship like no other that spanned more than three decades.”
Betty & Coretta is executive produced by Larry Sanitsky (Lifetime’s America), Mary J. Blige, Kendu Isaacs, Jaha Johnson and Polly Anthony (Archie’s Final Project). Yves Simoneau (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) directed it from a teleplay by Shem Bitterman (Halloween 5) and Ron Hutchinson (The Josephine Baker Story). The actual story is written by Ron Hutchinson and Shem Bitterman. With such names behind the scenes, this is sure to be one of Lifetime’s best!
The Lifetime production is set to premiere Saturday, February 2nd at 8 pm EST.
Weekend At The Movies: Django’s Controversy, Love It Or Hate It?
January 4th, 2013 by Lifestyle StaffThe new movie, Django, directed by Quentin Tarantino starring Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Samuel L Jackson is a story about a freed slave turned bounty hunter who then sets out to free his wife from a plantation. The movie has already been considered quite a controversy of 2012, which comes as no surprise because of the director’s reputation for pushing the envelope- but should we love it or hate it? Here are few reasons as to why the movie created such a controversy and some questions you should ask yourself.
-
Historical Setting
Django is set before the civil war, thus slavery is the essential element for the plot. For many people, slavery is a sensitive historical period where unresolved racial issues continue to linger among society. In the movie Tarantino exposes a perspective of slavery that magnifies the negative treatment among slaves. When will people ever be happy to see one slave spit on another when the issue is still painful to acknowledge? Director Spike Lee called its depiction of slavery, “disrespectful”. However, some people recognize his perspective as something different and innovative where it is to be appreciated for its creativity.

Comedy and Violence
A romantic drama and gruesome comedy all at the same time; this movie illustrates the diversity of elements a story can have without being one dimensional. One scene was passionate, another gory, while another scene was painfully hilarious. The picture below was captured during a scene where the main character, Django, was allowed an opportunity to choose what he wanted to wear for bounty hunting. Django chooses something so obviously ridiculous which was hilarious, but the irony was that in the same outfit Django killed two people, whipping one prior to their death. Some people find it entertaining while others feel it has no moral relevance, additionally slavery nor murder is a laughing matter. Are these people just too sensitive? Can’t violence and comedy be used to expose the truth of history?

Chained or Unchained?
The character Django was perceived as a super hero in this movie; a black man killing white slave owners. This definitely identifies an obvious difference between the antagonist and protagonist, but was this super hero chained or unchained? Often times in movies, racial issues intensify when it isn’t clear who is helping who and for what reasons. Django became a freed slave turned bounty hunter only with the help of Dr. Schultz played by Christopher Waltz who wanted money and criminals. Is it safe to say that this hero was indeed chained during this movie because his authority was only allowed after the saving grace of a white man?

The Use of the ‘N-Word’
Along with the controversy of the movie, there should be no surprise that Tarantino exposed such enormous use of the N-word due to usage in his movies prior to this one. As this was highly criticized, apparently the relevance doesn’t excuse the use for many people. Should slander be allowed in any Hollywood movies? In an interview with MTV and Trantino, his side of the argument is summarized in one word: History. Check it out here.
Whether you loved the movie or not, this is definitely a must-see. So check it out, consider these questions and decide for yourself. Let us know your thoughts on this controversial film below…

Lindsay Lohan’s Picture Perfect Performance Despite the Drama
November 15th, 2012 by Tiffany
We now have a complete look at Lindsay Lohan’s transformation into Elizabeth Taylor for the upcoming Lifetime TV movie “Liz & Dick.” New pictures just released prove Lohan might be Taylor’s spitting image. However, much talk has been created before production of the film even began. “Will she stay out of trouble long enough? Can she still act? Can she handle the role with all the media attention and personal legal troubles?” Here’s what producer Larry Thompson had to say about the actress and her latest role.
With Lohan’s new roles she has been busy enough to stay out of major trouble, but not out of every one’s hair. Of course she couldn’t help but to bring her constant drama-filled life to the set of ”Liz & Dick”. Executive producer Larry Thompson told reporters, “Producing a movie with Lindsay is not for the faint of heart. I turned 50 shades of white actually during the production.” Thompson acknowledged before shooting began that hiring the troubled actress would come with some strings attached. Yet he had a vision that involved an easy transformation and the best of Lindsay.
“We had serious challenges to deal with due to her probation and her history,” said Thompson. “Therefore we had to make a deal where there were pages and pages of ‘what if’ clauses. There never was a ‘what if she can act’ clause. It was about, ‘What if there is a car accident? What if there is a violation of her probation [and she's] incarcerated?’ Those ‘what ifs’ were plenty. She might be the most insured actress who ever walked on a sound stage. We tried to insure ourselves against things that could and, in fact, did happen.” Her well-publicized car accident back in June occurred during filming and caused a great deal financial risks and insurance claims to the movie’s producer.
Yet despite the mishaps and the drama, her amazing acting showed through once again. ”Overall, my gosh, relative to the performance we got and the movie we were able to make because of her, the pain was worth the pleasure. And the audience is going to benefit from the risk we took and the reward that was gained.”
Looks like Lindsay pulled through once again. Through much speculation her career is still alive and thriving. In fact, Thompson believes that Lohan’s performance will remind people why she became a star in the first place. “I know there are a lot of people out there who are naysayers, and I think they’re gonna be shocked—and people who have believed in her, their belief is gonna be vindicated.” Kudos Lindsay!
Check out more photos below and watch the trailer here before it airs on Lifetime Movie Network on November 25 at 9 P.M. Eastern time.
