Get an upgrade with the Droid RAZR MAXX {REVIEW}
March 12th, 2012 by ChristenIf you’re ready to ditch toting your charger EVERYWHERE you go – then the Motorola Razr Maxx is the way to go! At this time, you’re probably thinking, “Wait, I thought I already saw a review on the Motorola Droid Razr…” That part is true, but with all great mobile advances – it was only a matter of time until Motorola improved on the battery life of the Droid Razr, making the Droid Razr Maxx and amazing upgraded device.
If you recall my previous Droid Razr review (review it here) you’ll definitely see how how the two stack up against each other:
Both Droid Razr & Razr Maxx are relatively the same…except one HUGE difference in talk time.
Of course, with such a huge difference in talk time – I just HAD to put the battery life to the test. With more than 17 hours of texting, tweeting and talking (“You hang up. No you hang up. Okay, we’ll both hang up on three… One…Two… Three….Hello? No, you hang up…etc…”) – the Droid Razr Maxx absolutely backed up it’s battery claims. This it the perfect phone if you hate searching for power outlets in every restaurant and place of business you venture into. You could actually (dare I say it,) go an evening without charging your phone overnight without freaking out the next day with a dead phone.
If you’re a Verizon Wireless customer on the go – REJOICE! For once, using the mobile hotspot on your device won’t kill your battery. Connecting via WiFi using your laptop or tablet has just gotten alot easier with Droid Razr Maxx.
Filled with preloaded apps including the Smart Actions app makes everyday tasks easier by automating actions you do daily like adjusting ringer volume during office hours to playing your favorite playlist once for your daily gym workout.
Looking for speed? The Verizon 4G LTE is lighting fast! Surf the web superfast & grab downloads in an instant with the Droid Razr Maxx.
There are slight differences in size & design, however these barely noticeable differences are minute in comparison to the benefits of adding extra battery life without the bulk of an external battery pack.

Motorola Droid Razr: Is It The Sharpest Smartphone Out? (Review)
December 12th, 2011 by ChristenIf you’re a mobile connoisseur like me, chances are you remember all too well how stylishly haute the Motorola Razr was in the early 2000s. The sleek design & colorful options even inspired one of the first designer mobile collaborations a la the limited edition Dolce & Gabbanna Motorola Razr.
In order to resurrect the Motorola name & make it once again synonymous with cutting-edge tech, the company has returned to the brand that launched fashionable tech the MOTOROLA DROID RAZR. But is the newest addition to the Motorola Razr family worthy to make a fashion statement like its predecessor?

The extremely thin redesign is only scratching the surface of how redesigned this new RAZR really is. The shell of the phone is super thin, yet an extremely strong mix of aluminum, Kevlar and Gorilla Glass.
UNBOXING
Like most smartphones, the Motorola Razr comes standard with contents that you would expect (charger, USB cable, quick start guide, etc.). Although there are additional interesting accessories, like the Lapdock 500 that turns the RAZR into a 14? Android netbook, but they’re sold separately.
SPECS
Unlike it’s predacessor, the Droid Razr front is super tough with it’s Gorilla Glass coated screen. It’s a SuperAMOLED screen too, 4.3? big and with qHD (540×960 pixels) resolution. The RAZR weighs about 127g and is somewhat tall & wide (130.7 x 68.9 x 7.1 mm) – not for those with little hands. (But if you know how to keep a good grip on your phone, you should be just fine.)
BATTERY LIFE
The battery life is pretty consistent with most smartphones as well. Motorola promises that the non-removable 1,780mAh battery will deliver up to 8.5 days of standby time and 12.5 hours of talk, I’m not so sure about 12.5 straight hours of talk though (who could consistantly use their phone to test that out?) Just make sure you charge the phone nightly, (and keep the power chord on you during the day) if not – you may be outta luck. (Remember, non-removable battery means just that…keep that power chord handy.)
CAMERA
An 8 megapixel camera capable of capturing 1080p video with a single LED flash even has an image stabilization feature which is perfect for those of you with less than stable hands…
CONS
- The handset is a little too wide for for my petite hands…
- Questionable battery life (Motorola says it’ll last through 12.5 hours of talk)???
PROS
- Dual flash on the 5MP camera
- The LTE radio, 1.2GHz dual-core processor & 1GB of RAM make sure this sleek & powerful
- InPocket detection function locks your phone once its in pocket (or purse.) meaning…no more butt-dialing.
PURCHASING
Over all this is a cool phone for the price and definitely worth purchasing as a holiday gift.
It’s thinner than almost any phone on the market and makes no sacrifices to attain its slim physique. Without a contract, it’ll cost you $649.99 without a contract or $299.99 two years in with Verizon. Few phones out there can even be put in the same category when it comes to build quality. With its razor-thin design, jam-packed features, and blazing speed, the Motorola Droid Razr is easily one of the year’s best & sharpest Android smartphones available today, not the sexiest or most fashionable but undoubtedly performance-wise, the best.
Divas Love Verizon’s Droid Bionic (Review)
November 30th, 2011 by Christen
Battery life
This depends on how much your have a need for speed. If you use the DROID BIONIC a lot then you may have a battery problem on your hands, however If you switch LTE off and just use 3G/CDMA, talking – it should last you at least 9-10 hours (talk time).
Specs
Featuring a 4.3” qHD display with Gorilla Glass, dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel auto-focus camera, front-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, aGPS, 16GB onboard memory, 16GB microSD card preloaded, HDMI-out, and a 1,735 mAh battery. Supplementing its bountiful hardware, we can’t forget that this is a 4G LTE enabled device that’s able to deliver lightning fast data speeds.
Verizon 4G LTE + dual-core processor = DROID BIONIC
Verizon has had 4G LTE phones, and it’s had dual-core phones, but this is the phone that has both. Looking for speed unlike anything else? Verizon 4G LTE is definitely for you! Download movies in minutes, songs and photos in seconds. Verizon 4G LTE isn’t just fast, it’s lightning fast.
With the brightest screen I’ve ever seen, the DROID BIONIC makes it extremely usable no matter if you’re hanging out in the sun or bright, bright light. Personally, I enjoyed using Twitter on this phone, watching YouTube videos and photos. Call quality is excellent, and I already mentioned how fast the unit is…overall it was a great user experience.
The Camera
Focus…it was a little slow on finding it’s focus but with 1080p video it works well for an elite smart phone device.
Overall, this is a great device….I won’t lie, I even updated this site using the DROID BIONIC and using the internet on this phone is amazing! If you’re a fan of DROID – this is definitely the phone for you.
Are You At Risk Of Becoming A Google Slave?
August 15th, 2011 by Christen
IN TODAY’S BREAKING NEWS: Google announced THIS morning that it will acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion. Motorola is one of 39 manufacturers of handsets that use Google’s Android operating system. Buying a hardware company is an unusual move for Google. The acquisition, Google said in a statement, “will enable Google to supercharge the Android ecosystem.”
Now here’s the conspiracy you didn’t know. By now, you’re probably at risk of being sucked into the Google ecosystem. Most of you are already waist-deep within Google’s clutches of power and don’t even know it yet.
Google has been on a mission to divide and conquer since 2001 acquiring major companies that provide the products & services that you use daily — with it’s newest acquisition of Motorola, the Google “monster” is in prime position to control many of your daily activities one moment at a time…
Five Reasons Why You’re At Risk of Becoming a Google Slave?
5. Gmail – If you own a gmail account, use google apps or utilize Google Ad words on your website, GOTCHA! One quick security breach in Google’s products could make your life a living hell! (…and let’s not even talk about the Google+ hype.)
4. SayNow – Originally created to assist the internet deprived people of Egypt (during the 2011 revolution) by allowing phone messages to be tweeted through Twitter’s #Egypt hashtag, now acquired by Google, SayNow has the ability to become a communications lifeline, if (God-forbid) we have a huge internet shutdown or mutiny. Who will we have to look to for help? Google wins again.
3. Blogger – If you use the free blogging platform Blogger, for all of your online blogging needs – then you already know how dependent you are on Google to make sure everything is right – if not, you and your blog are subject to an epic fail!
2. YouTube – Who doesn’t utilize YouTube for a little in-office free time fun or to upload precious family moments or pure ridiculousness? Can you imagine what would happen if YouTube suddenly disappeared? You can’t — and that’s just where Google wants you.
1. Motorola – Can you hear me now? If you’re a Droid user (now controlled by Google) then it totally depends on what Google wants you to hear. Google CEO Larry Page says “Our acquisition of Motorola will increase competition by strengthening Google’s patent portfolio, which will enable us to better protect Android from anti-competitive threats from Microsoft, Apple and other companies.” – (side eyes) it sounds good, only time will tell how this acquisition will affect Droid and the user-experience in the future, just remember – if it goes to crap, you know who to blame.
Google is on a roll to control every aspect of a person’s online & offline life – it’s only a matter of time until the next acquisition could change the way we live in an instant, we’ll just have to wait and see who’s next to come under the Google umbrella and hope that it changes everything for the better and not for the worse.
Which Google product are you dependent on?
Do you think you can walk away from using Google forever?
Motorola Atrix 4G – What is it really?
March 10th, 2011 by Tech StaffYou’ve seen the commercials and immediately thought what is that?
Is it a smartphone? Yes!!!
Is it a Laptop? Yes!!!
Wait is it a TV? YES!!!

It’s All of the above, The New Motorola Atrix 4G, is the Winner of the 2011 CES Best of Smartphone Awards.
What makes this the Best of its class, Maybe the Two Processors running at 1GHz a First for Motorola or the Revolutionary WebTop Application that enables mobile computing by docking it to your Laptop, Desktop or HDTV! Whatever the case may be, The New Motorola Atrix 4G has set a new standard for Future Smartphones.
This First Dual-Core Smartphone is pass average, it runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) but when docked as a laptop or desktop, it also runs a custom version of Linux loaded with a desktop-class Web-browser. The Laptop Dock runs around $300 – $500 depending on your contract. Also available is the HD Multimedia Dock ($189), for your desktop or HDTV, bringing all your mobile Media experience to the big screen. It comes with a Bluetooth mouse, Keyboard and Remote control.
More Features are the 4-inch touch screen in qHD, 16 GB onboard but expandable to 32 GB and There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the back of the Atrix, and a pointless VGA camera on the front of the phone for Video Chatting. But what really impressed me is the Fingerprint recognition technology. As a security feature the camera captures your fingerprint to unlock your phone, saying goodbye to remembering coded numbers and dragging features.
This phone is impressive if you cash out on all the accessories for it. It’s like your own personal Multimedia office, everywhere you want go. The Atrix is only available on the AT&T Network, priced at $199.99 with a two-year contract.
