July 18th, 2013 by Rod
Remember when Motorola launched the 1st Droid for Verizon came out in October 2009?  That device helped propel the Android platform to superstar status.  So much to the point that it made many people forget about the 1st Android device the G1.  Motorola has yet to have this kind of success through the many iterations of the Droid series that Verizon has released throughout the years.

Now let’s rewind the clock back to late December, the Wall Street Journal 1st reported on the device as part of Motorola’s plan to get back into the Android hierarchy.  The Motorola X Phone is set to place the company among the likes of the Samsung Galaxy series and iPhones.

What’s To Expect Inside The Motorola X Phone:

  • a 4.5 inch OLED 720p HD display
  • powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of storage
  • 2MP front-facing + 10MP rear-facing cameras
Although on paper, it doesn’t sound like a huge deal.  But that isn’t what makes the Moto X special.  Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside stated at the AllThingsD D11 conference that the device will focus more on sensors as it will adapt to your needs.  It will know to go to standby mode when it goes into your pocket/purse, it will know when you are in your car to enter car mode, when you want to fire up the camera and more.  Most recently, a video leaked out that demoed the Moto X always listening feature that allows you to interact without pressing buttons or even holding the device.
