Following the release of the catchy “Fishy Fishy” tune heard in Fish McBites commercials nationwide, McDonald’s has taken the jingle “under water” with the launch of MouthOff McDonald’s. Developed by Us Two, MouthOff™ partnered with McDonald’s to create an infectiously fun mobile application that allows users to share fish fun with friends and family through Facebook and Twitter social media platforms.
With over 107,000 downloads, this free mobile app is designed for Apple and Android users, MouthOff McDonald’s allows users to choose a variety of fish mouths, such as Frankie the Fish or a puffer fish to sing along with the “Fishy Fishy” tune. Those who want to do more than just jam to the beat, can also log onto www.mcdonalds.com/fishmcbites to mix and share their own “Fishy Fishy” jingles.

Blackberry’s newest Creative Director, Alicia Keys wants her fans to star in her next concert video. In her first move as the company’s global creative director, Keys is asking fans to submit photos of themselves that will be included in music videos, which she’ll play as part of her upcoming tour.
Alicia Keys is inviting fans to submit photos of themselves via BlackBerry’s Keep Moving hub. She’ll take those photos to create music videos that she’ll play when she sings her song “Hallelujah” during concerts in her “Set the World on Fire” tour, which starts on March 7. Every city on the tour will have its own unique video. This isn’t the first time Keys has crowdsourced a video. Last year she created a video for her song “New Day” from fan-submitted Instagram photos.
The site also has a new video from Keys where she describes her feelings on the project. You can view it below.
Instagram is an iOS and Android app, and it’s not available on BlackBerry, so there’s no mention of it in the announcement. However, fans don’t need to have a BlackBerry device to participate in the contest — they can use any camera to shoot their pics. The only requirement is to submit the photos through the Keep Moving site. (Hmmm, the app isn’t available on Blackberry – yet it’s a Blackberry led promotion….I wonder if Alicia’s still using her iPhone?)

Alicia Keys was named Blackberry Global Creative Director earlier today.
The performer was introduced on stage during the company’s BlackBerry 10 launch in New York.
“Alicia Keys has come to BlackBerry because she believes in the product and technology, and subscribes to our overriding philosophy to ‘Keep Moving’: to empower people through mobile computing and communications,” said BlackBerry President and CEO Thorsten Heins in a statement.
He added, “We are excited she will be bringing to us her enormous capabilities, as well as a vast network of relationships in the entertainment, social media and business communities, to help shape our brand and grow our business.”
“In her new role, Alicia will work closely with app developers, content creators, retailers, carriers and the entertainment community to further shape and enhance the BlackBerry 10 platform, and inspire creative use through its remarkable capabilities and functionality,” reads a statement on Keys’ website.
It continues, “From music to books, to film, to apps, Keys will lead the charge of enhancing entertainment consumption and distribution, through the power of BlackBerry 10.”
It took no time for Alicia Keys to jump on Twitter and share the news with her fans…
The new Blackberry Z10 will undoubtedly be in the palm of Alicia’s hands in her next appearances (which will include singing the Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl this weekend)… but will she really get rid of her iPhone? I’m sure the paparazzi would love to get their hands on a shot of Alicia jamming out to ‘Girl On Fire’ with her iPhone…LOL…
Will Alicia Keys influence your next smartphone purchase?
If you’re one of the few T-Mobile customers holding their breath for an iDevice…you can finally breath a sigh of relief.
Apple has confirmed news that T-Mobile will be carrying the company’s products in 2013.
The news came as part of a press release by T-Mobile parent company Deutsche Telekom this morning. Apple representative, Natalie Harrison confirmed it earlier today.
In the coming year, T-Mobile USA will continue to reinforce its market presence with additions to its rate plan and product portfolio, including Apple products. “Following on from the preceding steps such as the spectrum swap with Verizon, the towers deal with Crown Castle and the transaction with MetroPCS that we have announced, we have now added the final piece to the jigsaw to boost the competitiveness of T-Mobile USA sustainably,” said René Obermann.
T-Mobile representative Michelle Taylerson reiterated that the company would bring Apple products to the carrier in 2013. “Additional details will be made available at a later date,” she said.
There was no mention of which Apple products T-Mobile would carry, but you’ll probably see the iPad and quite possibly the iPhone 6 make it’s debut next year…(don’t act like you’re not expecting it…LOL)

Verizon will likely launch a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 competitor in the form of the HTC Droid DNA, a device that was once called the Droid Incredible X and whose codename is HTC DLX. The device, which looks like a smartphone of the phablet variety, will aim to take on the LG Intuition and the Galaxy Note 2 this holiday season. While Verizon already has one phablet, a name for a device that marries the features of a smartphone and tablet, out on the market in the LG Intuition, it seems as though it will be offering two other choices to consumers in the weeks ahead.

Although it was postponed, and reported that it would be rescheduled – just moments ago, Google announced that they have decided against rescheduling their launch event today due to Hurricane Sandy and have posted the details that would’ve been shared via their blog instead.

Google Play: More entertainment, more countries
New additions to the entertainment hub, Google Play, has been announced too. Additions such as movies and TV shows from Twentieth Century Fox. Earlier this year Google expanded service beyond movie rentals and now you can purchase movies and build a library of your favorites in Google Play. Today they’re bringing movie purchasing to more countries – Canada, the U.K., France, Spain and Australia. Google is also now working with Time, Inc. to bring you even more magazines like InStyle, PEOPLE, TIME and others. And they’ve also partnered with Warner Music Group who will be adding their full music catalog with new songs coming each day. Soon, they’ll be working with all of the major record labels globally, and all the major U.S. magazine publishers, as well as many independent labels, artists and publishers bringing the ultimate in entertainment right to your fingertips.
Your Microsoft XBox is becoming more of a complete entertainment console that your originally thought. Long gone are the days of your Xbox just being a gaming system. Now it’s a complete entertainment system for every member of the family! Xbox Music will launch later this month with hopes of making a dent in the digital music industry.
Microsoft will roll out the new music streaming service to many customers on Tuesday as part of an update to the Xbox gaming console, and then the company will release it as a built-in feature on Windows 8 PCs and tablets starting on Oct. 26.
Xbox Live was first announced at an event in June of this year. The service will let users stream more than 30 million tracks worldwide across Microsoft’s ecosystem of Windows 8 mobile devices and PCs, as well as the Xbox. Think of it as Microsoft’s in-house version of Spotify.
Customers will have the option to stream music for free (with ads) or else pay $9.99 a month for an unlimited streaming subscription. Microsoft will also let customers purchase songs through Xbox Music for $0.99, which will operate similarly to Apple’s and Amazon’s music stores. What’s more, Microsoft plans to roll out a feature that will let users scan and match tracks they already have in their music collections and make these available for streaming from the cloud, just like with iTunes Match.
For Microsoft, Xbox Music represents a kind of do-over in the music market. The service will replace the Zune Marketplace, Microsoft’s online store for music and other entertainment offerings. Microsoft discontinued the Zune last year after the music player failed to compete against the iPod.
With Xbox Music, Microsoft appears to be acknowledging just how important it is to have a viable music service for mobile devices — like the soon-to-launch Surface tablet – in order to compete against similar offerings from Amazon and Apple.
