Usually nude manicures are staples for bland boardrooms and those that fear fashion forward nails. There’s stiletto nails, junk nails, foil nails and more nail designs, wraps and embellishments than ever before. With loads of nail trends populating #ManiMonday, #NailArt and #Nailstagram hashtags online – it’s easier than ever to fall down the rabbit hole of trends and believe “more is MORE.” Lately, I’ve become a huge fan of minimalistic styles and the belief that “less is MORE. So you can imagine just how happy I was to discover the new way to wear nude nails, with Sally Hansen’s latest designer collection.
Sally Hansen has partnered with designers Prabal Gurung, Tracy Reese and Rodarte to create some of the most sought-after shades of the season! In a season where deep, dark colors are what’s trending on nails everywhere, who knew one of my favorite shades would be one of the softest shades of the entire designer collection?
If you’re a fan of one of the most popular nude shades to date (“Stuck On You” by Jade) say hello to a new way to wear nude…the Sally Hansen / Rodarte collection in “Rose Glass”.

Rodarte’s take on Autumn glamour includes simple yet elegant limited edition shades like, Complete Salon Manicure in Gold Glass, Complete Salon Manicure in Beige Glass, Complete Salon Manicure in Rose Glass seen below.
One of my favorite stand outs of the collection has to be Tracy Reese (Remember, her fall runway shoe collection was absolutely stunning from head to toe!) In today’s latest installment of Mani Mondays – I’m excited to share a black and white monochrome manicure that’s been turning heads and garnering countless compliments all week long.
As complicated as it may initially look, this is actually one of the easiest nail art designs that you can create. With a steady hand and a little creativity, you can create this monochrome manicure illusion in just three easy steps.
Step 1: Create a french manicure arch on your nail tips.
Using the nail brush of your favorite black nail polish, you can create a horizontal line across the tip of your nail with one steady brush stroke. From there you simply fill in the remaining space from line to tip and let dry.
Step 2: Create triangle top graphic.
Using an art brush, create a white line angle starting from base of the nail up to the tip. (Use the center tip of your nail as a guide.) Repeat a second white line to create the angle and connect both lines at the base of your nail (near the cuticle). Once you’ve created a white triangle, use your brush to fill in the space within.
Step 3: Clean it up and Top it off with a top coat of gloss.
Check out your triangle graphics. If they’re a little off or disproportionate, use an art brush with nail polish remover to clean it up or add strokes of white polish to even them out. Once the graphics are to your liking, wait 5-7 minutes before adding a coat of your favorite top coat to seal the design and add shine.
That’s it! I’ve been getting compliments this unique take on a monochrome manicure for about a week now. You know it’s a hit when the girl from the KFC drive thru calls her coworkers to check your nail game all the way out, then admits that she’s gonna try out the design for herself. It’s an easy and fun design to recreate that could even be remixed with multiple colors to create unlimited looks all summer long. Maybe I’ll remix this look with alternate colors as another #ManiMonday moment next? What do you think about this week’s #ManiMonday – Did I #NailIt or Nah? Spring has sprung, the flowers are blooming and everything’s growing and evolving – including my nail game. (LOL) I’ve lengthened them, reshaped them and have taken on neutral approach to neon with a seriously fun mani this week!
This unique take of a “reverse moon” manicure on almond shaped nails is one of my favorite manicure Monday moment from cutical to tip. The subtle pop of neon paint totally transforms what would be an unassuming manicure into an easy DIY nail art alternative for my fingertips.
Jade # 207 Stuck on You Nail Polish Lacquer
Using one of the most popular Nude lacquers available to date, I based my manicure with Jade’s “Stuck On You” #207 nail polish lacquer. After allowing two coats to dry, I created a small reverse moon design starting at the base of cutical on each nail using a small nail art brush and neon green nail paint.
(Note: You can use neon nail polish too, but using nail art paint is better since its not as thin as regular polish and won’t require a second application.)
Also, in case you aren’t design savvy to create the half moon crescent in your own nails, stick to the basics and add a single dot (using a nail art pen or by dipping a ballpoint pen/pencil in the paint and applying a single dot on your nails.)
This is my mani-Monday look for the week, what are you wearing this week? How has Spring inspired you to change up your nail game this week? Share your favorite mani Monday colors. Nail art ideas and more in the comments below!
There’s nothing that can kick off a new work week better than a fresh paint job for mani Monday. (I mean, if you have to go into the office, you might as well be prepared with a sparkling new manicure to get you through.) Recently, I’ve been looking for a simple, yet chic DIY manicure that I can wear from the office to a night out on the town and everywhere in between. Typically, I like to opt for bright and vibrant colors that instant invoke happiness (however bright yellow nails don’t really pair well when you’re hosting a black tie gala event.) So during a recent trip to CVS, I found myself on a mission to find the perfect nude polish (at the perfect price) to create a unique manicure that didn’t leave my hands looking like plain jane.
I’ve been a fan of CVS Beauty Club for all my last minute beauty needs and once again, CVS didn’t disappoint. I found this beautiful warm toned, nude hue by Wet N Wild that was perfect to take for a spin. The Wet N Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color in 204B matched with a simple and chic mod polka dot takes this simple manicure to a simply chic nail art moment for less than $5.
At CVS, it’s easy to find the best in beauty products and spend $50 in purchases, but did you know that you could earn points that save you money as well? As a Beauty Club member, you can earn $5 ExtraBucks Rewards for every $50 spent on qualifying beauty products including cosmetics, skincare, haircare/accessories and more!
I’ve been shopping at CVS for years, and racking up my fair share of amazing Beauty Club ExtraBucks Rewards is always a welcomed treat after checkout. From last minute cool new styling brands to beauty staples, when I score a $5 ExtraBucks Reward it comes in handy for my next purchase. Click here to sign up for CVS Beauty Club, you could be saving on your next new beauty buy too!
With only a few more weeks left in winter, I’m ready to explore trendy bright hues of Spring on my fingertips. Maybe I’ll go for vibrant greens or fiery reds for my next mani moment – what about you? What mani Monday colors are you excited to explore next? Share your must have DIY manicure hues / brands in the comment section below.
Nothing makes s woman feel more fierce, confidant and sexy than the right pair of heels. If you’ve ever worn a pair of Christian Louboutins then you know the feeling that can only come from the rouge sole heels.
Now that exact same feeling (and color) can be applied to your fingertips thanks to the coveted Christian Louboutin nail polish line.
Rouge Louboutin… a timeless, vibrant red suited to any skin tone. A true objet d’art of a dramatic 8-inch height inspired by the tallest heel Christian Louboutin ever created- the Ballerina Ultima.
The iconic Rouge is encased in a faceted, weighted glass bottle with an unique ombré effect. The tall slender cap, inspired by calligraphy, turns the application into a luxurious experience, inviting women to take their time.
The custom-designed, patented triangular brush picks up the right amount of formula, without air bubbles, to deliver flawless, chip-resistant coverage.
A highly pigmented, super glossy formula delivers in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of traditional lacquer. Enclosed in a patent leather like finish presentation box with a red reveal.
Overall, the beautiful and highly pigmented Rouge Christian Louboutin nail polish is worth the $50 a bottle price tag only if you adore the color red and worship everything Louboutin. Other than that, I’ve seen my fair share of similar hues from Essie, OPI and more (and when it comes down to making manis last, topcoat 2-3 times a week will be your bestfriend.)
What do you think? Love the packaging but hate the price tag? Would you splurge on a mani of this magnificence? Share your thoughts below.

We’re in a haze of a season where the cold winter weather just doesn’t want to let us go… (it’s like old man winter is an ex-boyfriend that doesn’t quite understand that he’s an EX for a reason…) In an attempt to celebrate “Mani Monday” and change the only environment that we can control, I’ve round up my favorite Spring hue colors that will help usher in the warmer months sooner than later.
Essie “Fashion Playground”
This week’s fingertip favorite is by Essie. Essie’s “Fashion Playground” in a mint pistachio hue is a great pop of color that covers extremely well. From the tips of your fingers to your toes – this fun, creamy color reminds me of sunny days, palm trees and the pastel architecture of Miami Beach.
Ruffian Nail Lacquer in “Delirium”
If you’re daring and pastels aren’t quite your thing, the designer Ruffian nail lacquer in “Delirium” may be right up your alley. Not quite as dark as it seems, it’s a bold take on the popular purple color of the year.
OPI Nail Lacquer in “Don’t Pretzel My Buttons”
In case you need to take a break from bold colors, OPI’s nude hue ” Don’t Pretzel My Buttons” is a great alternative for a clean and classic Spring manicure.
INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel
Go for a punch of color with INGLOT’s O2M breathable nail enamel in this punchy coral hue. This shade in “622” is the type of color that goes great with the latest season’s bright and bold tones and will carry well into the summer months. Plus, the formaluhyde free formula allows moisture and oxygen to pass through to keep nails in the best condition.
Morgan Taylor’s “New Kicks On The Block”
My latest mani obsession involved the “New Kicks On The Block” pastel shade by Morgan Taylor. I loved it so much that I had to share a mani Monday moment a few weeks ago with my favorite poochie girl… my darling pet chihuahua Phoebe.
This is the perfect warm weather take on Pantone’s color of the year “Radiant Orchid”. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm and leaves a fresh long-lasting impression perfect for wearing all year long!
Not sure which shade suits you best? Take the time to test out the season’s hottest shades at retailers by using a swatch to test the coverage, pigments and real life shade – without buyers remorse.
Now that you’ve seen just a few of my favorite shades for the season, which shades are your current favorites? If you’re currently rocking your favorite shade in celebration of Mani Monday, share your current color situation (and why you love it) below.
If you love nail art, but hate paying expensive nail salon prices or messy D-I-Y alternatives, DooBop NCLA Designer Nail Wraps are for you! Designed exclusively by NCLA for DooBop. This set of 26 self-adhesive nail wraps and a nail file makes it so easy to get a stylish nail art manicure at home.
This mani Monday, I wanted to tackle the accent nail and the best way to curate a punch to your manicure is with ready-to-wear nail wraps. After receiving a variety of exclusive DooBop NCLA nail wraps in “Afropolitian”, “Patina“ and “Spot On!” I opted to pair my peach-mango hued mani with the Bohemian hues of coral, lavender, turquoise and peach found in the DooBop NCLA Patina set.
Prepping the nail and application is really easy. The four step process isn’t at all cumbersome and depending on how much of a nail-perfectionist you are, you can apply your manicure makeover in as little as five minutes or less.
Step 1: Clean your nails with nail polish remover, apply a coat of clear nail polish and let dry.
Step 2: After selecting the right size strip for each nail, apply the round side against the cuticle and stretch the nail wrap until it neatly covers the nail bed.
Step 3: Once in place, flattened the wrap from the cuticle to the top of the nail and smooth out the bubbles/creases until the wrap is completely flat.
Step 4: Use the nail file to remove the leftover nail wrap from the top of the nail and apply a coat of clear polish to lock in the shine and go!
The DooBop NCLA Designer Nail Wraps are also great alternatives if you’re “in between” manicures and are in need of a stylish quick fix to your unkept finger tips. I can’t wait to try out the tribal print inspired Afropolitian and Spot On! wraps in the next few weeks. Which one should I try out first?

If you are anticipating Summer, the way that I’m anticipating Summer than you undoubtedly can’t wait for Summer to finally arrive. I’ve been trying to usher summer in slowly but surely, by wearing bright colors from my head, down to my toes. This #ManiMonday I revisited a good old throwback from 2012 – the Nars x Thakoon Summer Collection in Amchoor.
Designer Thakoon Panichugal, created this rich, vibrant color inspired by the many colors found in Indian spice markets.
The color itself is thick and after two years, still has really good coverage. With lighter colors, I typically use a white polish as a base coat instead of a clear base coat polish. The white base coat is essential to make any bright polish POP for bright, eye-catching fingertips.
After the white base coat, I applied only one coat of the Nars x Thakoon Amchoor polish and then topped it off with a clear coat to seal in the color.
Unfortunately, the Nars x Thakoon collection was available for a limited time only back in 2012, but you can still find many of the colors featured in the limited collection online and on eBay today. For more on Nars and their entire beauty collection of products, visit Nars online at NarsCosmetics.com and connect via Twitter and Instagram today.
Have you tried out a happy yellow manicure yet? What are some of your favorite vibrant manicure shades?
