This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  But first, it’s time to gather your friends and family to honor the great tradition of good meals and gratitude!  Thanksgiving is here and you know what that means, the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade is on the way! This year, America’s favorite holiday tradition will mark a milestone anniversary, on Thursday, November 24th, the 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® will march down the streets of New York City as millions celebrate with family and friends.

In celebration, Macy’s has launched the Macy’s Time Traveler App and emojis to help everyone get a head start on the fun. The Macy’s Time Traveler app allows you to interact with the parade in the comfort of your own home or in your local Macy’s store. It’s a fun and interactive way to find and capture balloons in your local Macy’s store through virtual reality and make a customized parade of your own.  You can also learn about the history of the Macy’s Parade and take a vintage selfie. If you’re a serious NY history buff and in New York, you can get a 3D virtual view what the parade looked like in years past while in Herald Square.

What Would Martha Stewart Do? Get Inspired And Meet Martha Stewart At Macy’s

January 19th, 2016 by Christen

There comes a time in a woman’s life where she becomes more excited about placement settings and home design aesthetics than shopping sprees and designer shoes.  I’ll admit, my latest obsessions have evolved from curating personal style to (dare I say it) designing intimate events with (and for) family and friends.  And if there’s one person you can depend on having inspiration for designing experiences you’ll love, it’s Martha Stewart.

From the kitchen to home life and even planning my future wedding, following Martha Stewart, has inspired me to step up my design game in every area of my life.  That’s why I’m so excited to meet the mother of style, the duchess of design – Martha Stewart at Macy’s.  Join Macy’s in welcoming Martha Stewart at a special signing of her new book “Martha Stewart Weddings, Ideas & Inspiration”. Learn tips for planning the big day, and with any Martha Stewart Wedding book purchase of $60, you’ll get a chance to meet her and have your book signed*!

Martha Stewart

Celebrating 20 years of the design debut of Martha Stewart Weddings in 1995, it has been the premier resource for couples looking to plan and personalize their big day. From the engagement to the day itself, every detail is covered. You can learn what goes into making a “Martha” wedding, which includes dreaming up a cohesive theme and color palette, as well as finding a dress and suit, registering for gifts, enjoying showers and bachelor(ette) parties, hiring vendors, choosing the flowers and cake, and orchestrating a sweet send-off for the evening.

This year has already proven to be a year of transition, from work, relationships and the fact that I’m moving into a new home has me in a design-frame-of-mind all day, everyday.  Whether you’re planning a wedding for yourself, a friend, client, or even looking for designer ideas for a new home, office or work space – this book is a must-have – and who better to get advice from than Martha Stewart?! I’ll see you Thursday, January 28th at Macy’s Herald Square (New York) at 6pm. For more information on this free event, find more details here.

Macy’s & JC Penny Gets Digital For The Holidays…

November 15th, 2011 by Fashion Staff

This year, your favorite department stores are getting a digital makeover including QR codes and augmented reality apps into your holiday shopping experience. Ready or not, Tis the Season for Digital.

If ever there was a cool use for QR codes (not just practical), this might just be it. JCPenney’s new “Who’s Your Santa” campaign has a QR code extension for 2011, where everyone who buys a gift for Xmas will receive a unique QR code Gift Tag or “Santa Tag” as they are calling them…

That QR code allows the gift giver to scan and record a personalised voice message for the recipient… Once they are done, just stick the QR code Santa Tag on the present and you’re done! It’s actually a pretty innovative way to utilise QR codes, particurally in such a personalised way, and for me, this is a super smart experiment for JCPenney.

With Macy’s the latest brand to release an AR app for the festive season. This time, it’s a Christmas Card App, where you can turn up at any of the Macy’s “Believe Stations” to post your kid’s letters to Santa, only this year, if you’ve got the app on iOS or Android, the little ones will be in for a nice surprise, with Virginia and her friends to life… Check it out here. The app lets you choose your favourite characters, take photos and then customise virtual cards… I quite like the functionality, it’s empowering the kids to do something a little more engaging once they’ve had the AR experience, and makes perfectly shareable content on the fly!

If you’re in New York City (and you’re anything like me) you’re more than likely overjoyed and overwhelmed by New York Fashion Week and most importantly Fashion Night Out!

In my quest to find the “IT” spots for Fashion Night Out SAVINGS – I stumbled upon these four spots for Fashion Night Out Fun!

6:00pm – 7:00pm:  In true Divas and Dorks Fashion….we need a little bit of geekness and a whole lotta glamour.  That’s why we’ll be headed to the Diane Von Furstenberg & HP Experience Lounge at the DVF Showroom hosted by Refinery29. (Click the link to RSVP)

7:30pm – 8:30pm: The MECCA of everything fashionable also known as the largest Macy’s EVER! Macy’s in Herald Square.

9:00pm – 10:00pm:  Ready to smooth it out with live music from NYC’s hottest DJs and THE MAN HIMSELF Sean “Diddy” Combs at the Sean Jean flagship store on 5th Ave.

10:30pm – Until:  After the show is the after party & the only perfect way to end an evening of fashionable shopping is at Patricia Field’s (in case you didn’t know, not only did she style the ladies of Sex in the City (the show and movies) but she has her own store too!)
