Samsung confirms that it will host a special concert at SXSW this Wednesday, 3/12, with JAY Z and Kanye West. Samsung will be rewarding Galaxy owners with complimentary tickets to the show. At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Samsung will be giving away wristbands to Galaxy owners and a guest at the Galaxy Experience on 2nd & Trinity in downtown Austin across from the convention center.
See below image for details on how consumers can win JAY Z And Kanye West SXSW tickets.
Samsung has continued to build their relationship with Roc Nation since last year when they helped launched JAY Z’S new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. JAY Z And Kanye West SXSW performance on Wednesday is the first time the two will perform together since Kanye joined Roc Nation. It’s been since 2012 that their Watch the Throne tour ended.
Additionally, Samsung will be hosting several concerts for Galaxy owners throughout the week (Thursday-Saturday nights). These shows will showcase a variety of music genres and will again be offered on a complimentary basis to Samsung Galaxy owners with Milk Music. Samsung plans to distribute concert wristbands only to owners of Galaxy devices with the newly launched ad-free radio service called Milk Music downloaded on their devices. They can pick up their wristbands at the Galaxy Experience pop-up location at 2nd Street and Trinity Street starting Tuesday at 10 a.m. CT.
Other musicians performing this week for Samsung will be Janelle Monae and Gary Clark Jr. on Thursday, Broken Bells on Friday, and Cut Copy and Holy Ghost! on Saturday.
JAY Z and his entertainment company Roc Nation previously partnered with Samsung in 2013 to release his 12th studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. They gave away 1 million copies of the album, purchased for $5 each by Samsung, to Galaxy owners, who had to download an app to snag a copy. The stunt influenced the Recording Industry Association of America to modernize its 55-year-old certification process to immediately include digital sales.
Wednesday’s concert will be the first time JAY Zand Kanye have performed together since Kanye joined Roc Nation earlier this month. They previously shared the stage during the Watch the Throne tour, which ended in 2012. Could this weekend be as epic as anticipated? I hope so!

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards is just days away here in sunny LA and the anticipation for big performances and the big winners is growing with each passing day. Performances by Jay Z, Beyonce and Macklemore has already been confirmed, but now Spotify is once again getting into the mix by predicting this year’s Grammy winners! In 2013, Spotify accurately projected that Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” would win the gilded gramophone for Record of the Year and that Mumford & Sons would take home the Album of the Year prize for “Babel.” Spotify’s users have once again spoken and their streams have been tallied. The digital music service analyzed data on its top song and album streams to predict which nominees will win big at this Sunday’s highly anticipated GRAMMY Awards.
Key predictions include:
Record of the Year
1. Radioactive, Imagine Dragons
2. Blurred Lines, Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell
3. Locked out of Heaven, Bruno Mars
4. Royals, Lorde
5. Get Lucky, Daft Punk Feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers
Record of the Year: Radioactive (Imagine Dragons)
There were no blurred lines in this category – the hit from Imagine Dragons has one-third more streams than Robin Thicke’s summer smash, which came in second on Spotify.
Album of the Year
1. The Heist, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
2. Random Access Memories, Daft Punk
3. Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, Kendrick Lamar
4. Red, Taylor Swift
5. The Blessed Unrest, Sara Bareilles
Album of the Year: The Heist (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis)
The Heist has over 40 percent more streams than Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, and more than three times as many as the other three nominees combined.
Best New Artist
1. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
2. Kendrick Lamar
3. Ed Sheeran
4. James Blake
5. Kacey Musgraves
Best New Artist: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
This pair is the clear favorite, beating Kendrick Lamar by 70 percent and fellow newcomer Ed Sheeran by nearly triple the number of streams.
Best Pop Solo Performance
1. Royals, Lorde
2. Mirrors, Justin Timberlake
3. Roar, Katy Perry
4. When I Was Your Man, Bruno Mars
5. Brave, Sara Bareilles
Best Pop Solo Performance: Royals (Lorde)
The race for Best Pop Solo is close, with Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors and Katy Perry’s Roar duking it out for second place.
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
1. Get Lucky, Daft Punk Feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers
2. Blurred Lines, Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell
3. Just Give Me a Reason, Pink feat. Nate Ruess
4. Suit & Tie, Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z
5. Stay, Rihanna feat. Mikky Ekko
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: Get Lucky, Daft Punk Feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers
Daft Punk did get lucky with 20 percent more streams of this hit than runner-up Blurred Lines.

Who are you looking forward to seeing at the GRAMMYS this weekend?
The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards air Sunday, January 26th on CBS.
Have you ever had a life-altering, spectacular dream and within minutes of waking up could no longer remember the moments that made up your vision? Well now, there’s an app for that (and it doesn’t require you to wear some silly electromagnetic head gear.) SHADOW, a New-York based startup building the world’s largest dream database, and is now offering it’s iOS app to help users record and remember their dreams. SHADOW is an innovative alarm clock that helps users remember and record their dreams by placing them in a cloud-based, global dream repository. SHADOW visualizes your sleep and dream patterns to identify common themes and, by using dream content of other users, turns these symbols and experiences into insights.
Founder hunter lee soik explains: “Some of humanity’s best scientific discoveries begin in dreams, yet most of us forget 95% of our dreams within minutes of waking up. Thanks to our Kickstarter backers we can now build an app to capture all that lost dream data, and we are absolutely astounded by the positive response we’ve had so far. A massive thank you to every one who has backed, supported and given us your feedback, we could not have done it without you”.
At its heart SHADOW is an alarm clock, but with a stunning design and advanced features. Simply tell SHADOW when you go to bed and the time you wish to wake up, and come morning it will use a series of escalating alarms. The gradual increase in volume not only makes the waking up process easier, but helps you better remember your dreams by taking you through your hypnopompic state (the transition from asleep to awake) much slower than a standard alarm clock.
Once you’re awake, SHADOW immediately prompts you to record your dreams, you can speak or text your dream into the app and if you do audio it’ll transcribe to text and pull out the key words. From there SHADOW will push the dream to a secured server where it can anonymously organize the global data to identify major themes and trends. For the times when remembering dreams is tricky, you can opt to answer a series of 5-10 questions designed to jog your memory. The whole process takes less than five minutes, and once the data is recorded you decide how far and wide to share it.
Now available at $8, SHADOW helps users record and remember their dreams. Early Backers will receive the application beginning around December, and you can still back the project from as little as $2 on their Kickstarter page until the campaign ends on 11:11am on November 2. SHADOW is the brainchild of soik, an entrepreneur specializing in organizational leadership and experience design. Before founding SHADOW, soik was a creative consultant for Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch the Throne tour, and consultant for brands including Stella McCartney, Vitra, the CFDA Awards and Art Basel. Remember how we told you about Jay Z’s upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail the beginning of this week. The album is being released straight to an app on 3 Samsung Mobile devices (Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note II, and the Samsung Galaxy S 4). If you have one of those devices, download the app HERE. Throughout the week, the app MCHG app has been updated with short clips of what went on behind the scenes while recording the album.
In one of the most moving videos, Jay Z talks about a track called Jay Z. He speaks about his father leaving him when he was young and the paranoia that comes along with it.
If you have been missing out on Jay Z app updates, here he’s talking about the track Oceans. He talks about a few lines and their double meanings.
“The only Christopher we acknowledge is Wallace.”
“Silk and fleeces. Lay on my Jesus. Oh my God, I hope ya don’t get sea sick (“see” sick)”
OCEANS – Jay Z
He even talks about the track Holy Grail (featuring Justin Timberlake). The price and consequences of success that don’t’ seem so bad in the beginning might be overwhelming. Watch below:
“There are going to be some good picnics on this July 4th”
As rumors have confirmed, the Jay-Z / Samsung collaboration is as real as it gets. Earlier this week rumors rattled the web as news of a pending $20Million dollar partnership sent speculation swirling if Jay-Z would be just another celebrity endorsement or if it would be “The Next Big Thing”?
Magna Carta Holy Grail
Tonight, as the Miami Heat faced off against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA finals, a TV ad aired near the end of the second quarter featuring rap star Jay-Z in a studio with an impressive cast of characters including producer Rick Rubin, Pharrell Williams and the Samsung Galaxy tablet.

The MTV VMA’s Is Coming To Brooklyn
On August 25 the stars will be packing the house that Jay Z built aka Barclays Center for MTV’s annual VMA’s. The show which is usually held in LA is marked for the sometimes extreme celebrity outfit choices, antics on the red carpet during the pre-show and embarrassing but entertaining moments on stage. With Brooklyn being declared “The Coolest City on the Planet” by GQ, it’s not surprising that this hip location has been chosen to host one of the most epic nights on television.
New Yorkers have built-in egos, (myself included). If this event is a reflection of that then we should expect this year’s VMA’s to be grandiose to say the least. Also expect some serious New York pride and some over the top displays of gansta from celebrities and presenters. This includes but is not limited to: random artists screaming “Brooooooklyn” (whether or not they were born or raised there), too many mentions of the word “swag”, posing or talking while displaying nondescript hand signs. Brooklyn may be the home to many hipsters and may have a booming art scene but at its core it is still known for its hard edge.
The VMA’s have a history of being a spectacle on and off stage. No one can forget Kanye’s spotlight stealing moment, Brittney Spears looking disheveled during her supposed comeback performance after her public out bursts, Lady Gaga bleeding all over the stage, and Beyonce revealing her baby bump.
My only request is that they don’t play the New York State of Mind song made famous by Alecia keys and Jay Z every opportunity they get. There is plenty of time for someone to come up with a new anthem. Also, though Mayor Bloomberg has voiced his excitement over the announcement, I could do without an appearance from him unless he delivers his speech in his famously bad Spanish accent.
No host or performance line up have been announced as of yet.
Who would you like to see perform and host this year’s show?

Would you walk a mile in Jay Z and Beyonce’s shoes? Thanks to PMK, you and your boo can wear the lavish sneakers created by power couple soon. PMK is a favorite brand of Jay Z and his A-list, superstar wife Beyonce. Jay Z had a shoe designed for him last year- the Brooklyn Zoo – by the brand. His pair was as lavish as any sneaker could be, with an endless roll call of reptile skins and embellished textures for your feet.
PMK said: ‘The Brooklyn Zoo 1’s cannot be tamed with an elaborate combination of elephant-print, ostrich, python, boa, crocodile, lizard, alligator, suede, and sting ray intricately cut to transform the Jordan 1 from a basketball sneaker into the world’s most daring and dapper sneaker concepts known to man.’
As Queen of the charts and one of the world’s most famous women, Beyonce’s taste in fashion was always going to be pretty lavish. But her new acquisition takes super-luxe fashion to a new level. The singer’s latest fashion folly is a pair of custom-made trainers, made for her by high end brand Perfectly Made Kicks using exotic animal skins. PMK handcrafted the sneakers for Beyonce to the singer’s exacting requirements using a mix of stingray, ostrich, calf’s fur, crocodile and anaconda skins.
Called The King-Bey, the shoes, which have been given Beyonce’s approval, are decorated with gold accents. The price is as yet undisclosed, but a regular pair sells in excess for $350+ so this embellished pair would obviously sell for a lot more.
Would you and your boo rock a pair of these kicks? (Collectively they could cost you almost $1,000 to own both pair.) For pricing and ordering information, visit pmkcustoms.com.
