It’s been an incredible 2013 for Jason Wu thus far. Just last month, he debuted his retail-friendly line, Miss Wu, exclusively for Nordstrom on Jan. 7. (already worn by First Lady Michelle Obama) inspired by chic girls with their boyfriends in the 1960’s and beyond. It’ only makes sense, during New York Fashion Week, Wu’s back at it again. While reports circulated concerns of sparsely attended shows due to the affects of NEMO blizzard – Jason Wu packed a full house! At one of the most anticipated shows at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, revealing the Jason Wu Fall Winter 2013 collection, Wu wowed fashionistas worldwide again.
The collection “Extreme Femininity” included stark white, black, fur, snakeskin, fire engine red and a piercing shot of violet, the silhouettes included exaggerated shoulders in fur shrugs and trench coats, pleated maxi and mini skirts, and a lot of sheer fabric.
“It’s all about the embodiment of a woman—powerful, sensual, sexy, glamorous,” said Jason Wu as he unveiled his looks board backstage before his show. “I wanted to project beauty—beautiful clothes and beautiful women.” But as Wu added, “with every hard edge there’s softness.”
His 2013 take on evening wear puts a new spin on the peplum trend, incorporating it into tuxedo pants instead of skirts or tops.
Ostrich feathers incorporated into 2 dresses, definitely wowed us all especially the winter white one!
Cocktail dresses and tops will get us all ready for the 2014 Gala season with Grecian inspiration. Will it long before Jason creates another custom fit for our First Lady inspired by this collection? We can hardly bare the suspense to see what other amazing work Jason will unveil this year!

Jason Wu for Target finally hit store shelves on Sunday, February 5th and if you’re a size medium or larger, you were pleasantly surprised at what you found on store shelves way after the shopping crowds died down.
I’ve been a fan of designer Jason Wu for a while now and we’ve covered several of his collaborations inside and outside of the fashion arena. Since the initial announcement of the Jason Wu for Target line being released there was a lot of murmurings & rumors questioning the designs and if the sizes would run true to size or possibly smaller. You’d imagine my surprise when I arrived to Target to find that in fact the sizes ran rather larger than expected. (I won’t reveal my actual number – but let’s just say that I snagged more than a few “Large” items to add to my wardrobe…) Check out a few of my cute finds below…
Honestly, I wasn’t even in the shopping mood for a coat. But the subtile pink/lace accents and overall fit of this trench coat definitely made it worth a try and a buy…
This dress jumped out at me (literally!) as the only dress of it’s kind left on the rack, I officially snatched this Audrey Hepburne-esque frock with glee! There’s just something about a frilly, flared dress that takes me back to dressing up in huge pomp & circumstance fashion for Sunday service as a child…Ah, the memories…
Believe it or not, a long comfy red sweater has been on my shopping “bucket” list for a while now. (You know, that list of staple items that you want to add to your wardrobe, but in my case – you keep forgetting to…) I like my red sweater, it leaves me with a Mr. Rogers vibe… (…And who doesn’t remember Mr. Rogers?)
Every girl needs a “happy dress”, you know – a dress with colors, patterns or shapes that when you look at it, you can’t help but be happy. In this case, nothing says “happy” like flowers & the color yellow – since this dress has both, consider it my very own “happy dress.”
Before you go and judge me for picking out the most obvious marketed design of the Jason Wu for Target Collection, hear me out first. I’ve been traveling A LOT lately and nothing is more comfortable while on a 5hr + flight than an oversized comfy tee, leggings & oversized shades (this has been my uniform coast to coast). Plus, I was able to negotiate $2 off the regular price – so duh, why wouldn’t I buy it? LOL
Last but not least, well you can simply call this one an impulse buy! *hangs head in shame* However, I am in the process of purging myself of carrying larger than life hobo bags (which at one point consistently weighed more than the size of an average 4 year old child)…so technically, I think this was one of those impulse buys that won’t leave me with buyers remorse later…
There you have it folks! Thanks to a few of my fellow budget-conscious fashionistas, you guys helped me settle on these looks while I was still inside of the dressing room… I can’t wait to mix and match them with some of my closet favorites soon
Simplicity meets modern charm with the new line coming to Target by Jason Wu. Although quality of this collection is yet to be determined, based on the looks and history of the durability of Target designs – Jason Wu created many a covetable pieces. The pieces mix elements that are common in high end designs, such as color-blocking, intricate hardware, and geometrical patterns. The collection is supposed to launch in Target stores on Feb. 5th. Take a look and let us know what you think? Will you make your way to Target for this launch?
From the runways to electronic store shelves, Jason Wu is one of the leading fashion designers that has gone beyond the helm of designing fashions worn by models – into creating model designs of cameras, electronics and now powder room, kitchen faucets and accessories alike.
Since faucet brand Brizo® established a relationship with fashion designer Jason Wu in 2006, architects and designers have anxiously anticipated a collaborative collection between the two luxury brands. After many years in the making, the two brands are delighted to introduce the Jason Wu for Brizo Collection, a stylish powder room suite that merges the signature styles of both brands in a line of products for the bathroom. The collection reinforces the position of the Brizo brand as fashion forward and innovative, and it marks the debut of Jason Wu into the world of interior design.
“As a designer I thoroughly enjoyed working alongside the Brizo product team to translate my designs into a collection of products for the home. It was an exciting challenge combining my design aesthetic with the innovative technology of Brizo products,” said Wu.
“Much like fashion accessories help pull together an outfit, these added pieces complete the look of the home bathroom, allowing homeowners to infuse the collection’s style throughout the space to create one seamless, integrated design,” said Judd Lord, director of industrial design for Brizo products.
The complete collection will be available in showrooms in spring 2012, although pre-order reservations are available now through February 20, 2012 for a limited number of faucets and coordinating accessories. Marvelously Simple. There’s no better way to describe the “Create by Jason Wu” collection unveiled earlier this year by General Imaging. The fashion designer’s point and shoot could not be easier: you can shoot, choose flash, and view galleries. That’s it — and in fact, if you need a cue, the shooter reminds you to “hold still” while taking a shot. You’re definitely picking this up for style over substance, but still it’s pleasantly light and captures surprisingly decent images.
As for the specs, we’re looking at 12 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, and a 2.7-inch LCD. The battery charges via wall adapter or the retractible USB plug, which is also how you movie images to your computer of choice. Color options? White, black, gold, red, yellow, blue, green for a metal finish; and white, black and grey for leather. A 4GB version is $180, and 8GB is $230 — no memory cards accepted here, folks.
