Today in Cupertino Apple introduced the all-new 9.7-inch iPad Pro — at just under one pound it features a new pro Retina display with greater brightness, wider color gamut, lower reflectivity, Night Shift mode and introduces new True Tone display technology to dynamically adjust white balance. The new iPad Pro delivers incredible performance with the 64-bit A9X chip that rivals most portable PCs, along with a four-speaker audio system that is twice as powerful new 12-megapixel iSight camera for shooting Live Photos and 4K video, 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera, and faster wireless technologies. And iPad Pro includes support for the breakthrough Apple Pencil and a new Smart Keyboard cover designed to fit the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
The new iPad Pro is just 6.1mm thin and weighs just under one pound, yet delivers groundbreaking performance, connectivity and versatility so you can tackle the most demanding tasks wherever you go. The powerful A9X chip with third-generation 64-bit architecture provides performance that rivals many laptops and console-class graphics, while also delivering all-day battery life. Now with Apple SIM embedded directly in the new iPad Pro, it’s even easier to connect to wireless data plans right from your device when traveling in more than 100 countries and territories.
The four-speaker audio system provides powerful, clear and rich stereo sound for more than twice the audio output. Built-in sensors automatically adjust and optimize the audio no matter which way you’re using it. iOS 9.3 also adds support for playing video encoded with Dolby Digital Plus audio streams with support for multichannel output using the Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro colors comes in silver, space gray, gold and a new rose gold metallic finish and starts at $599 for the 32GB Wi-Fi model and $729 for the 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model. Both iPad Pro sizes are available in offerings of 32GB, 128GB and a new 256GB capacity, the highest of any iOS device. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be available to order beginning Thursday, March 24, from Apple.com, and in Apple’s retail stores, through select carriers and Apple Authorized Resellers on Thursday, March 31.

Remember a few months ago when the revolutionary Apple iPad Pro and Pencil was revealed? Discover the iPad pro release date and exactly when you can get your hands on the highly anticipated tablet below!
Apple unveiled its long-rumored larger iPad – the iPad Pro – at its iPhone 6s and 6s Plus launch event. Apple is even offering a stylus for the first time with the iPad Pro — something Steve Jobs famously joked was a sign of failure in both smartphones and tablets a couple years ago.
The iPad Pro is the most advanced and powerful iPad ever made. Its beautiful and large 12.9-inch Retina display has 5.6 million pixels and provides an immersive experience for content and apps. The iPad Pro is far and away the fastest iOS device ever made — its A9X chip beats most portable PCs in both CPU and graphics tasks, but is thin and light enough to hold all day.
Apple announced that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro would go on sale in November but never gave a concrete date. A new report claims it will actually be released in the first week of November, along with the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard accessories, which will set you back $99 and $169.
The iPad Pro starts at $799 for the 32 GB Wi-Fi model, while the high-end 128 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular retails for $1,079.
But wait, there's more...

Now that the new iPad Pro has been unveiled, it has a lot of corporate types and entrepreneurs thinking about upgrading to the new tablet in November. What about you? Thinking about the new iPad Pro replacing your Macbook or pc? Given the bigger display, many will compare this device with the 12-inch retina MacBook. But the main difference is that these two devices run two very different operating systems — OS X and iOS.
The iPad Pro also features a front and rear camera, two speakers both at the top and the bottom of the device (four speakers in total). And of course, you also get a Lightning port, a headphone jack, side buttons, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Optionally, you can buy a cellular model with LTE. As the MacBook doesn’t come with a cellular chip, this is another differentiating factor with Apple’s laptop.
The iPad Air features an A9X chip, Apple’s 3rd generation 64-bit chip with 2GB of memory and faster flash storage. Apple claims that it is faster than 80 percent of the portable PCs that shipped in the last twelve months. And yet, it has 10 hours of battery life. It is 6.9mm thick, a bit thicker than the 6.1mm iPad Air. It weighs 1.57lb.
Apple’s new Smart Keyboard further extends the utility of iPad Pro, offering a full-sized keyboard in a thin, durable design so you can take it anywhere. The Smart Keyboard, available for purchase separately, attaches to iPad Pro’s innovative Smart Connector port, eliminating the need for a separate battery, on/off switch or Bluetooth pairing. The Smart Keyboard is covered in custom woven fabric and features keys that provide the accuracy, stability and satisfying key feel of standard keyboards, but is also easily foldable and can transform into a Smart Cover®. The Smart Keyboard also works seamlessly with new QuickType® features in iOS 9 to make typing even faster and easier.
The iPad Pro is going to be available in November — 32GB for $799, 64GB for $949 and 128GB for $1,079. The $1,079 comes with Wi-Fi and cellular. The keyboard is going to cost $169 and the stylus is going to cost $99 — proving that productivity on the go with the new iPad Pro won't be cheap anytime soon. Are you considering the new iPad Pro when it arrives in November?
