Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference: Live Stream
September 8th, 2011 by Christen
Yesterday, I embarked on an experience unlike any other. Speaking in front of over 350 fashion bloggers, stylists, writers and more during the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference at Milk Studios. I was absolutely nervous, but all in all had a phenomenal time. As the moderator for the first panel of the day, the pressure was on to kick the conference off right. (Thinking to myself, speak slowly, but not too slow…keep the questions coming but not too fast, segways, remember segways…this is a conversation and it has to flow organically…)
After I calmed down the hundreds of voices in my head, I was able to introduce myself, the panelists and conduct the first panel discussion of the day – BLOGGING TOOLKIT with ease and success!
Don’t believe me? Check me out on the live stream below…
Following the variety of congratulatory messages and tweets (which truly warmed my heart…) – I went straight for the fun stuff!
Hair makeover and Minx Nails!!! OW!
Check out Michael and the team with KMS California USA hair products taming this mane…
The big reveal left me speechless…(and absolutely in love with my big bouncy curls…)
Then onto the Minx manicure…FIERCE.COM

As my first blogger fashion experience, this conference was great for for networking, learning tips for successful blogging, and checking out the great fashions! FULL RECAP I can’t wait until next year, until then…I’m off to enjoy the beginning of my Fashion Week…WISH ME LUCK!

FOR THE LOVE OF THE FASHIONABLE TECH’IES
Edited by Joanne Faith
I am very appreciative of each and every fashion blogger who has written on the subject of blogging and technology. Each and every article helps to further inform and empower, enabling bloggers to upskill and better their craft. Blogging can get pretty technical, and even if your blogging platform is relatively easy to use there are so many surrounding factors (e.g. Twitter, Photo Shop, Mobile). In fact, I imagine very few fashion bloggers aren’t tech savvy. So, please keep writing tech ladies (and gentlemen), because we are all reading it up!

April 28th, 2011 by ChristenTIME TO THINK MOBILE
Edited by Vyque of Fasshonaburu
Anyone else feel like their lives have begun to revolve more and more around mobile technology? While I still can’t travel without my netbook, I can’t go even an hour without at least one of my smartphones within arm’s reach! So it didn’t surprise me when I read Miss Viki’s post on the prediction that “by 2013, mobile phones will overtake PCs as the most common Web access device worldwide.”
As a full-time new media professional, I had heard this before, but I hadn’t really considered how this would affect my blogging. Until I started using the iPad, I never once checked how my site rendered outside a computer or considered blogging from my phone! But as more and more users start accessing content while on the go, it’s important to remember to think mobile!!
