Thin is in! From smartphones to notebooks, there’s no such thing as too thin in technology! HP’s newest laptop, the Spectre 13.3, isn’t like anything else you’ve ever seen. It’s a true competitor against the Macbook Air and is a beautifully designed laptop that deserves to be shown off. Discover just how amazingly thin the newest laptop from HP truly is below!
The Spectre is a laptop after my own heart, as it took design cues from what women love – it was inspired by jewelry and women’s purses! At 10.4mm thin, the Spectre is almost as thin as your smartphone (including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 6S), making it not just the skinniest PC in HP’s portfolio but the slimmest notebook on the entire market. It’s truly HP’s answer to Apple’s 12-inch MacBook, except with a bigger screen, extra horsepower and a little more bling.
The Spectre 13.3 goes up for pre-order on April 25th for $1,170 and up. It will be available in Best Buy stores May 22nd, with configurations there starting at $1,250. HP will also make a handful of special-edition models with diva-worthy materials like 18-karat gold and Swarovski crystals. For more information visit HP.com.

Last week HP invited a handfull of bloggers, designers, photographers and more for SPRING INSPIRATIONS with DwellStudio founder and creative director, Christiane Lemieux. During the preview event of DwellStudio’s spring lines, we also discovered new ways to use technology to bring ideas to life with digital design.

Using the HP ENVY x2 by Hewlett-Packard we were encouraged to create a themed collage as inspiration for redecorating space at home. (Participating in this project was sweet serendipity as I’ve been planning on reorganizing & redecorating my bedroom and office space as birthday gift to myself.)

One of my favorite highlights during New York Fashion Week had to be the HP Style event featuring an exclusive preview of Project Runway winner Anya Ayoung-Chee’s Spring runway collection. HP was back in New York for Fashion Week helping Anya Ayoung-Chee unveil her first collection since winning Project Runway Season 9 and the Intel & HP design challenge.
Anya gave guests a personal tour of her new Spring 2013 collection – “Carnival of Colour”. The collection, inspired by the eclectic Harlem area of New York City features beautiful bursts of colorful jumpers, floor length gowns & jackets.
Talk about a fun afternoon filled hors d’oeuvres and drinks at Morimoto NYC! Top fashion bloggers and stylists came together to fuse technology and fashion by styling her collection on HP’s newly announced HP PCs and designing custom textiles with HP TouchSmart PCs like the designers on Project Runway.
“Don’t I look completely engulfed in the designing process? This is serious business!”
This was my first time ever designing textiles, specifically using the HP TouchSmart PC and I have to say, it was super easy and super fun. I decided to create a D&D inspired textile using gold & black colors…After creating my design, I got a chance to print it out and create my very own custom Starbucks tumbler similar the this one below…
In addition to textile design, I got a chance to style a few of Anya’s “Carnival of Colour” looks via Polyvore for a chance to win an HP Pavilion dv6 PC with Beats Audio. (Check out all the styled looks on Polyvore via the #HPStylesAnya hashtag.)
The fun continues well after the event, right now you can check out the textile designs on HP’s facebook page, all of the styled looks on Polyvore as well as more photos from the event too. Looking for more of Anya’s collection? Check out Anyaayoungchee.com

New York Fashion Week is slowly become a fashionable gadgenista’s playground! With more and more designers embracing the geek within with tech-savvy accessories, embracing social networking platforms and partnering with technical companies – it has transformed from a fashion only event to a fashion and technology extravaganza. The early adopters of fashion & technology include Vivienne Tam and Ralph Lauren – and this season each designer (along with others) did not dissapoint on the tech factor.
Check out our D&D Top Three Tech Picks of NYFW SS12:
Vivienne Tam – Takes fashionable tech from the runway to the yoga mat…
Vivienne Tam integrated the iSport Immersion headphones into her new Fashion Yoga collection. During the presentation, 20 female yogis, wearing Tam’s new line, each wore a pair of the washable and sweat-proof iSport Immersion headphones, designed specifically for athletes and workout enthusiasts.
Lenovo – Gives geek fashion a home, during Fashion’s Night Out…
Lenovo invited DivasandDorks.com to join them at Saks Fifth Avenue for the Fashion’s biggest night of the year – Fashion’s Night Out. To promote the new u300 Lenovo models, Lenovo offered hands on previews and more.
Marchesa – Takes fashion three dimensional with 3D on the runway…
Marchesa partnered with HP to bring extraordinary technical fashions to New York Fashion Week. From a runway show in 3D to a bedazzled version of the newest HP netbook to hit store shelves. For more on Marchesa and their tech fabulousness check it out here.
With more and more designers and brands making fashionable technology mainstream – I can’t wait until next season, I’m sure it’ll only get bigger and better as each season progresses…
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you…HP and designer Marchesa is bringing the ‘Bling To Spring…in 3D”!
Marchesa and HP have teamed up to design and produce a special limited edition laptop that is covered in special patterns made of Swarovski crystals. Available in white or black, these limited edition laptops will be auctioned off by HP and the proceeds will benefit local charities to be determined…
In case you thought that wasn’t enough…Marchesa also debuted its fashions in 3D during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week runway show…
The Marchesa show had more technical goings on than a little bit during it’s 3D Runway Experience partnership with HP…That is because HP was on-hand filming the runway show in HP Live 3-D. HP’s HP Live 3-D, also known as “plurabis” technology is actually a technology that lets HP film live events for instant streaming in 3D.
HP is currently working on developing this tech in their labs, and decided to bring it to Fashion Week where they partnered with Marchesa to recreate the designer label’s runway show so others could have an immersive experience even after the show is over.
