#2013CES: Ford Says That You Can Save Money/The Planet With The Electric Energy Initiative
January 8th, 2013 by ChristenTrying to lower your utility bill? Maybe it’s time you talked to a motor company – Ford says they want to save you money, reduce energy consumption and save the planet. Ford Motor Company announced a strategic collaboration that will demonstrate how a typical American family can significantly reduce their electricity bills and CO2 footprint by integrating home appliance technology with a plug-in vehicle to achieve an energy-efficient lifestyle.
Ford launches MyEnergi Lifestyle® collaboration to show how a typical American family can significantly reduce their electricity bills and CO2 footprint by integrating today’s home appliance and plug-in vehicle technology.
“More than ever, cars are sharing the same energy source as the home,” says Mike Tinskey, global director of Vehicle Electrification and Infrastructure, Ford Motor Company. “The time is right for the home appliance and transportation sectors to converge if we are going to tackle a myriad of sustainability challenges in a rapidly changing world.”
The average American home uses more than 11,000 kWh of electricity a year, says Warwick Stirling, global director for Energy and Sustainability, Whirlpool Corporation. “But with recent technology advancements in our appliances, a family can use energy smarter and more efficiently,” he adds.
- Georgia Institute of Technology computer model predicts a 60 percent reduction in energy costs and savings of more than 9,000 kg of CO2 (55 percent reduction) from a single home when changes from a MyEnergi Lifestyle product are incorporated; if every home in the U.S. were to implement these energy-saving technologies, it would be the equivalent of taking all the homes in California, New York and Texas off the power grid (32 million homes)
In order to create a real-world model, MyEnergi Lifestyle is planning to launch a contest awarding one lucky family an energy efficient home makeover. Details on the promotion haven’t been announced yet, but winners would presumably be outfit with enough technology to recreate the Georgia Institute of Technology’s model on a real power bill. The All New 2013 Ford Fusion… “The Rose that Grew from Concrete”

The All New 2013 Ford Fusion has been given a new spotlight on the road as the star in the new “The Rose that Grew from Concrete” ad campaign. Unveiled today, “A Rose” …inspired by Tupac Shakur’s, “The Rose that Grew from Concrete.” campaign features the stunning midsize sedan that offers a distinct style and functional design that Ford lovers has learned to love.
The campaign, called “A Rose,” debuts today and includes a TV advertisement in which consumers witness members of a Ford product team creating a breakthrough product by chiseling a large block of concrete into the all-new midsize sedan. The ad, which features Andre Royo from HBO’s “The Wire,” includes a voiceover reciting the late Tupac Shakur’s poem, “The Rose That Grew from Concrete.” “The all-new Ford Fusion is such a breakthrough vehicle for Ford,” said Shawn Thompson, Ford manager, Multicultural Marketing. “The late Tupac Shakur’s poem, “The Rose That Grew from Concrete,” is the perfect description for the way the new Fusion’s design came to be. As it’s described in the words of the poem, the Fusion is a clear testimony of what we can do if we keep our dreams.
“This campaign breaks completely away from anything we’ve done in the past to introduce consumers to a new vehicle utilizing a poem by one of hip hop’s most celebrated artists,” Thompson added. “This campaign, like the poem, has an inspiring message at its core.”
The fully integrated campaign also includes radio and print ads in addition to a digital execution featuring a series of Web videos that will live on www.ford.com/brandnew. The videos feature interviews with some of the team members behind the design of the all-new vehicle. The Web videos can be found on the Ford Fusion YouTube channel and Ford Fusion Facebook page beginning today. The question is, will we see a new Tupac hologram sighting at Ford dealership near you? Wild Shoe Wednesday: Add A Little Skin With Tom Ford

As you’ve noticed, we can’t help but enjoy seeing Rihanna photograph out an about, long hair, short hair – we don’t care – cause these days it’s all about her style & fashion. The Barbados diva was spotted in these Tom Ford Over the Knee Anaconda Boots.
The Italian made shoe are genuine anaconda, a pointed toe she leading up to a 24 inch shaft with a dipped back at the top! The inside is lined with Leather an a leather sole is also featured on the shoe. All of this is resting on a 4 1/4″ inch stiletto heel with golden tip.
Rihanna is known for her fashion forward looks which is why we love this outfit with these Tom Ford Heels! A very edgy and exotic look with a tomboy edge. Now these particular shoe may be a bit much for some of you divas however an over the knee boots are a great option to rock in the fall if your not ready to part with your mini summer pieces just yet! If your going to add some over the knee boots to your wardrobe for a day time look, take some notes from Rihanna and go for separates, making sure the top is a little more casual and relaxed, a like a Crew neck sweater or a T- shirt pared with cardigan, fusing a daytime everyday outfit with a night time evening shoes.
