IMG Fashion and Rightster announced that for the first time, there will be a live stream of every runway show from New York Fashion Week (Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) at Lincoln Center, as well as video on-demand content available for all shows and presentations, for fashion enthusiasts everywhere. Starting February 7th – NYFW live streams will be available on newyork.mbfashionweek.com and facebook.com/mbfashionweek, giving fans worldwide a front row seat to fashions most beloved designers’ shows.
Now that the mystery of one of New York’s most fashionable events will be revealed on a computer screen near you, what does that mean for New York Fashion Week and what does that mean for you? The tents at New York Fashion week has always been much more than the experience of designer runway shows and presentations. It is the epicenter of the current and future faces of fashion. Editors, stylists, models, celebrities, makeup artists, bloggers and more crowd inside the tents in an anxious frenzy to network, floss their style and make their way to each designer show. Sure, live streaming of the runway shows will give outsiders a front row seat to the newest season of style, but it’ll never replace the experience that is New York Fashion Week.
In fact, half of the entertainment that is New York Fashion Week actually takes place outside of any of the designer presentations. From the omnipotent 20-something pr representative intoxicated with power to the more than desperate model/stylist/actress-to-be , these are just a few of the lead characters you’re destined to experience underneath the tents of fashion week. The ruthless elbows & jabs from photographers determined to “get the shot” to the catty chatter of “influencers” complaining about their overbooked (non-existent) show calendar – these are people and scenarios that can’t possibly be shared by streaming a runway show online. Last season, the disgruntled daughter of a French publisher went as far as slapping the face of pr before the start of a show – these are scenes from NYFW that I can’t make up and definitely won’t be streamed on a computer screen near you soon.
Overall, you can in fact call this a fashion WIN for the masses who may never step foot inside a NYFW show, but if you’re not easily entertained and have hopes of obtaining an insider’s view of what New York Fashion Week really is then think again. Now that IMG Fashion and Rightster has unveiled a small segment of the New York Fashion Week curtain, don’t believe that this is an all-access pass for a full-on NYFW experience; those experiences are still reserved the fearless fashionistas and not the faint of heart.
With New York Fashion Week fast approaching, the last minute style jitters are hot on my tail! As a naturally organized person, I opted for pre-planning my NYFW daily style (instead of the usual ‘wake up & find inspiration’ regime. With that in mind, there’s always a worry of ‘What Ifs’ once New York Fashion Week begins. From wondering if your meticulous show schedule will really allow you to attend back to back shows on time to the most dreaded ‘what if’ of them all – What if someone is spotted in my identical ensemble?
Luckily, with the power of accessorizing, trend-watching & creating a look that embodies your personal style – you likely won’t have to worry about that “what if” at all.

In 2011 Vogue Italia selected Heavy Machine as one of the best emerging talents in the fashion industry and production was moved to Italy. Sheepskin, cow skin and nappa leather from Italy Padova was used to create these classic artisan heels with modern rebellious soul. This inspiration is shown by the collection’s bright color combinations and bold architectural designs.
Inspired by childhood fairy tales and playgrounds everywhere…
All of these edgy artisanal heels can be found by checking out Heavy Machine online.
Kanye West shoes are getting all kinds of publicity lately. First his Giuseppe Zanotti collaboration has been seen on store shelves in Europe selling for almost $6,000, then it was announced that Kanye West designed the footwear for Aussie designer Dion Lee’s debut London presentation over the weekend. And now, according to GlamazonsBlog.com on the heels of his second Paris Fashion Week Runway Show – his footwear has already been labeled “Sexy As F***” by model Jourdan Dunn.
So what’s the fuss all about…well besides a runway filled with flying racecars zooming around the audience – take a look at them and several of the fashions hitting the runway yourself and let us know what you think?
Kanye West Fall/Winter (Paris Fashion Week)
What do you think? Too tall for your britches? (Six inch heels? We don’t think so….)

New York Fashion Week is long gone, but for some London Fashion Week is where it’s at. Taking a look back at Spring 2012 Fashion Week (September 2011) – you’d be surprised at which city outweighed each other (fashionably) and which celebrity known for her outrageous fashion came out on top!
Now the New York Fashion Week has come and gone – let’s look at how Fashion Week has evolved since it’s humble beginnings in 1943.
On Thursday, February 16th (the last day of New York Fashion Week) many fashion bloggers, journalists and members of the fashion media attended the Relax, Renew & Recharge NYFW Media Tweet Up in NYC. Hosted by myself and Ty of GorgeousinGrey.com – the evening was filled with networking, reminiscing of fashion week fun, makeovers and more! I got the chance to share my love of the new AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note – it made tweeting throughout the night while snapping photos virtually a breeze. Many of our guests enjoyed delicious snacks courtesy of Tonnie’s Minis while tweeting their way towards winning prizes such as $25, $50 & $100 Sephora giftcards as well as AT&T smartphones.
Thanks to our sponsors AT&T, Sephora and Tonnie’s Minis for a fabulous evening – perfect for closing out New York Fashion Week. Check out what some of our tweeting guests had to say and more photos of the fun below…
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you…HP and designer Marchesa is bringing the ‘Bling To Spring…in 3D”!
Marchesa and HP have teamed up to design and produce a special limited edition laptop that is covered in special patterns made of Swarovski crystals. Available in white or black, these limited edition laptops will be auctioned off by HP and the proceeds will benefit local charities to be determined…
In case you thought that wasn’t enough…Marchesa also debuted its fashions in 3D during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week runway show…
The Marchesa show had more technical goings on than a little bit during it’s 3D Runway Experience partnership with HP…That is because HP was on-hand filming the runway show in HP Live 3-D. HP’s HP Live 3-D, also known as “plurabis” technology is actually a technology that lets HP film live events for instant streaming in 3D.
HP is currently working on developing this tech in their labs, and decided to bring it to Fashion Week where they partnered with Marchesa to recreate the designer label’s runway show so others could have an immersive experience even after the show is over.
Yesterday, I embarked on an experience unlike any other. Speaking in front of over 350 fashion bloggers, stylists, writers and more during the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference at Milk Studios. I was absolutely nervous, but all in all had a phenomenal time. As the moderator for the first panel of the day, the pressure was on to kick the conference off right. (Thinking to myself, speak slowly, but not too slow…keep the questions coming but not too fast, segways, remember segways…this is a conversation and it has to flow organically…)
After I calmed down the hundreds of voices in my head, I was able to introduce myself, the panelists and conduct the first panel discussion of the day – BLOGGING TOOLKIT with ease and success!
Don’t believe me? Check me out on the live stream below…
Following the variety of congratulatory messages and tweets (which truly warmed my heart…) – I went straight for the fun stuff!
Hair makeover and Minx Nails!!! OW!
Check out Michael and the team with KMS California USA hair products taming this mane…
