The next highly anticipated designer line is on the way to Target stores everywhere, and once again – this collaboration does not disappoint.  Peter Pilotto announced he would design a line for the retailer back in September, and we have all waited with bated breath for any clues into what the collection might look like.  We know that his designs have graced the flawless frames of fashionistas and starlets including Kerry Washington, Thandie Newton and Beyonce – and now we know what his collection for Target will actually look like.  Check out items from the collection below.

PETER PILOTTO for Target features nearly 70 items, consisting of women’s apparel, accessories and swimwear. Ranging in price from $14.99 to $79.99 for apparel and swimwear and $16.99 to $39.99 for accessories, PETER PILOTTO for Target will be available Feb. 9, at most Target stores and A curated assortment will be available to global fans via online luxury retailer NET-A-PORTER.COM.

New York Fashion Week Goes Social With Rebecca Minkoff Snapchat Sneek Peek

With designers in search of new ways to make collections generate fashion week buzz, many of them resort to social media as the “go to” for the masses.  For its Spring/Summer 2012 show, Burberry decided to debut its collection via Twitter, sending the brand’s name to Twitter’s list of global trending topics at the time. Just last week, it was announced that Carolina Herrera has launched her first social media contest to boost awareness of her bridal line.  It’s no longer show attendees that get the first glance at fashion week looks — this season, for Rebecca Minkoff fans at least, that honor falls to the users of Snapchat.  Now with the power of social media, Rebecca Minkoff has solicited the power of the Snapchat app to debut her Spring 2014 collection moments before they appear on the runway.

Snapchat is a two-year old iPhone and Android app that allows users to send messages, photos and videos that automatically self-destruct seconds after they’re viewed.  Sharing sneek peeks of the Spring 2014 collection allows fans to experience the star fashions of the shows even before most editors and show-goers can.  The Rebecca Minkoff team believes  that fashion week involves the consumer just as much as it does the designers, editors and buyers.  Uri Minkoff, the CEO of Rebecca Minkoff says, “We believe in a different approach. We believe the consumer is part of [fashion week], and that their inclusion is going to grow. The consumer has a voice and say in [our] brand, they should get special perks even if they can’t attend the show.”

Get In The Game, Know What To Wear #NFLAllClear

Recently I had the pleasure of being invited to  Vogue’s Fashion x Football event in New York City and it got me to thinking about how to score a touchdown with my own fashion flair while attending the games this season.  In case you didn’t know, there are new rules when it comes to fashion accessories at the games this year and it has many fashionistas in an uproar.  The new NFL All Clear policy prohibits camera bags, coolers, luggage or large totes of any kind within any NFL football games.  In an effort to keep fans safe, the NFL encourages fans to not bring any type of bags at all – but they’ve made a few concessions with the women in mind.  So what does that mean for female fans?  We’re limited to what type and size bags we can bring into the stadium, but that shouldn’t prohibit our stylish options at all.


This year, I plan on attending a hometown tradition of Thanksgiving with a side of Detroit Lions football.  Lucky for me, I won’t have to travel far for a stylish ensemble that’s stadium appropriate.  With the NFL All clear policy, I’ve been prompted to invest in a clear envelope clutch purse (since it falls within the guidelines of permissible bags) and bring along only the necessities needed i.e lipstick, credit cards, ID & cash.  For a complete list of permissible bags visit  I created a unique sporty look completely inspired by the clear bag which includes a striped Golden Goose three quarter sleeve t-shirt from, Von Vonni Maxi dress (which happens to be on sale) and Roxy gray wedge shoes along side tons of adorable accessories including a Michael Kors sports watch.  Check out this collection and share how you plan on accessorizing for the NFL All Clear season.

Samsung x Alexander Wang Collaborate To Benefit Art Start New York

When functional style meets creative design, that’s a recipe for stylish success!  Samsung, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, and New York-based designer Alexander Wang revealed the finished product following months of collaboration with some of the industry’s most creative contributors. The limited-edition Alexander Wang Wallie gym sack is the first co-created bag inspired by crowd-sourced sketches and images created using the GALAXY Note II.

Alexander Wang resourced the ‘collective inspiration’ of a select group of Samsung smartphone users for his latest collection. Called the ‘Wallie’, the gym sac has a drawstring closure, reinforced leather corners, and a black and gray print on the lambskin finish.?  The bag’s abstract print was produced by Wang by combining different images (photos, doodles, patterns) created using Samsung’s Galaxy Note II smartphones by a group of his close friends, stylists, photographers, and others.

“The abstract print really captures the energy of New York City,” the designer explained. “This collaboration is a great example of how technology and style can come together in an unexpected but really meaningful way.”  The bag will go on sale this August The bag is available in select locations from this month, and proceeds from the sale of the $550 bag will go towards the Art Start charity, that uses the arts to nurture the creative talents of at-risk children and youth.

Target is partnering with esteemed designer Phillip Lim on an exclusive fall collection of women’s and men’s apparel and accessories, including shoes, bags and travel accessories.  3.1 Phillip Lim for Target is a sophisticated and elevated collection that is both beautiful, functional and coming to Target shelves next month.


Since introducing 3.1 Phillip Lim in 2005 with friend and fabric supplier Wen Zhou, Lim has continuously challenged the contemporary market with cutting-edge sophistication and quality. He was honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America with the Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear, accepting Womenswear in 2007 and Menswear in 2012. 3.1 Phillip Lim also received the CFDA award for 2013 Accessory Designer of the Year.

Who better than the woman most synonymous with shoes to become the namesake of a shoe line. Sarah Jessica Parker’s new shoe line, SJP, will launch in January.

Carrie Bradshaw shoeSarah Jessica Parker is launching SJP–her first shoe collection in collaboration with Manolo Blahnik–bringing her character Carrie Bradshaw’s shoe dreams to life.  Parker’s Sex and the City character is a style icon and because she “got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes, and by default I learned an enormous amount,” the actress told Vogue.  Bradshaw’s alter ego is offering “something different” to reflect her personal taste and, according to British Vogue, “old-school labels like Charles Jourdan and Maud Frizon” inspired her collection. “We’re putting new colors together that people don’t typically do.”




SJP will be introduced in Nordstrom stores, but everyone can shop the collection online at The line will include sandals, flats, pumps, and boots ranging from $200 to $400. Which is what you’d expect from the woman who’s television persona, Carrie Bradshaw once confessed to owning about $40,000 in shoes.  The line will be sold exclusively through Nordstrom in 2014.
