Would You Walk A Mile In Jay Z and Beyonce’s Shoes?
February 27th, 2013 by ChristenWould you walk a mile in Jay Z and Beyonce’s shoes? Thanks to PMK, you and your boo can wear the lavish sneakers created by power couple soon. PMK is a favorite brand of Jay Z and his A-list, superstar wife Beyonce. Jay Z had a shoe designed for him last year- the Brooklyn Zoo – by the brand. His pair was as lavish as any sneaker could be, with an endless roll call of reptile skins and embellished textures for your feet.

PMK said: ‘The Brooklyn Zoo 1′s cannot be tamed with an elaborate combination of elephant-print, ostrich, python, boa, crocodile, lizard, alligator, suede, and sting ray intricately cut to transform the Jordan 1 from a basketball sneaker into the world’s most daring and dapper sneaker concepts known to man.’
As Queen of the charts and one of the world’s most famous women, Beyonce’s taste in fashion was always going to be pretty lavish. But her new acquisition takes super-luxe fashion to a new level. The singer’s latest fashion folly is a pair of custom-made trainers, made for her by high end brand Perfectly Made Kicks using exotic animal skins. PMK handcrafted the sneakers for Beyonce to the singer’s exacting requirements using a mix of stingray, ostrich, calf’s fur, crocodile and anaconda skins.

Called The King-Bey, the shoes, which have been given Beyonce’s approval, are decorated with gold accents. The price is as yet undisclosed, but a regular pair sells in excess for $350+ so this embellished pair would obviously sell for a lot more.
Would you and your boo rock a pair of these kicks? (Collectively they could cost you almost $1,000 to own both pair.) For pricing and ordering information, visit pmkcustoms.com.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Academy Stair Trip: 3 Steps to a Graceful Cover-Up
February 26th, 2013 by TiffanyIt was the award season fall that will be talked about for the rest of the year! An elated Jennifer Lawrence on the way to accept her win for the Best Actress award at Sunday’s Academy Awards, went down on her way up the stairs! She stumbled and fell on a short flight of stairs, landing on her knees and hands. However, like any blurp or fall in Hollywood, there’s always a graceful way to cover it up- here’s how she smoothed it over after landing on all fours in front of the world.
1. A helping hand.
Hugh Jackman might have missed out on an Oscar, but the Les Miserables star won the award for chivalry when he leapt out of his chair to help Jennifer Lawrence, immediately following her trip to the podium. Step one in the graceful cover-up, a helping hand.
2. An elegant speech with enough gratitude and humor.
While the world was Tweeting, updating, and pinning about the epic fall, Jennifer Lawrence’s awesome night was just beginning. She got up to the podium, finally, received a standing ovation and dismissed her mortification with the perfect opening. She responded, “Thank you, you guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell. And that’s really embarrassing.” With the graceful rise, the acceptance speech was just as elegant-step two. Lawrence, 22, gave her thank yous and paid tribute to her fellow nominees, including Australia’s Naomi Watts (The Impossible.) She even gave Jack Nicholson a little crap, because she’s an Oscar winner now and he totally deserved it. A perfectly smooth transition containing enough gratitude, humility, and humor to forget about the fall- at least for that moment since the video will continue to circulate online.
3. A little outlandishness to top it all off.
Of course with any embarrassing slip-up and cover-up comes leeway for a little outlandishness- step three. She was caught giving reporters the middle finger in the press room afterwards, but subsequently blamed it on the alcohol. Maybe that was the original reason for the stair trip? It all comes full circle even with the graceful cover-up!

What do you think of Jennifer Lawrence’s trip, cover-up, and alleged drunken middle finger?
It’s Not Too Early To Try These Haute Spring Trends NOW…
February 18th, 2013 by Fashion Staff

New York Fashion Week has just ended and we’re already looking forward to seeing Spring trends arrive on store shelves. Are you looking for ways to usher a little Spring into your step? As we all know, fashion can be difficult to follow. In an industry where one color, fabric or pattern can be insanely hot one minute and totally out the next, there’s no doubt that keeping up is no easy task. There’s no reason why we can’t cheat Mother Nature and beat seasonal style to the punch…take a leap of stylish faith by trying out these haute Spring trends today…

Done-Up Denim
Everybody loves Denim! It’s a go-to look for relaxed chic style! From white-on-chambray and midnight rinses to every patchwork combo in between, since denim is a year round trend that’ll never be out of style – there’s a happy place for jeans for the entire family this season into the next.

Rise and Shine in Iridescent Glory
We’re just basking in the dreamy haze of iridescent bags, shades, and fabrics as far as we can see. One thing was sure on the catwalks of London Fashion Week — shine is going to big come Spring. Mulberry’s shiny separates in English garden-inspired floral prints were balanced out with soft leather trousers, Antipodium layered tailored waistcoats over gold dresses, and Topshop Unique also showed how to keep iridescents low-key by teaming silver trousers and skirts with simple white tees and pastel knits.

Spice it up with sporty dress wear
Kick things up a notch in tailored baseball and tennis tops, painterly snap-back caps, and body-conscious street wear that show off your best moves (and curves). Spring’s sporty dresses—with their flirty A-line skirts and shoulder-showcasing bodices paired with tights and booties are the way to go until Mother Nature says so.

Answer The Call Of The Jungle
In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the diva struts tonight….Heed calls of the wild wherever they lead. Pop graphics, tropical fruit motifs, and patterns made for preening add up to a killer look.
Topshop Teams Up With Google For London Fashion Week
February 13th, 2013 by Tech StaffUK high street clothing staple Topshop has teamed up with Google+ for this season’s London Fashion Week. According to The Next Web, the theme for the fashion outlet this time around is to re-imagine the future of the fashion show. While the online activity of the Topshop Google London Fashion Week collaboration will be engaging, the actual event will be taking place at The Tanks at the Tate Modern in London, England.

Those who are not able to snag tickets for the catwalk can naturally tune in online. Not only will the runway be on show, but model profiles, the work of makeup artists, designer fittings and celebrity arrivals will be accessible.
The Topshop Google London Fashion Week collaboration makes fashion accessible to anyone with an internet connection. Topshop has already been setting up for its show on Google+ with content around the making of the event complete with model diaries and product design. Fans of the stream can also try for tickets to see the event and on February 17, exclusive content will be posted along with material onYouTube.
Interestingly this year Topshop Google London Fashion Week collaboration is also adding ‘Model Cam’. It’s pretty much as it sounds. The model diaries provide a narrative of the ‘Road to the runway’ and followers can read up on the experiences of Cara Delevigne, Jourdan Dunn, Rosie Tapner and Ashleigh Good who will be updating their activities from first fittings to the bright lights of the catwalk.

Topshop Google London Fashion Week (Oxford Circus)
A Google+ photo booth has been installed where users can try on outfits and create a moving image on a catwalk which will be uploaded in an interactive digital shop window and appear on the company’s Google+ page. It’s only at Topshop’s flagship store on Oxford street for now, but hopefully the Google+ booth will make it’s way to American locations soon. Until then, enjoy London Fashion Week from the comfort of your laptop or online with live streaming on DivasandDorks.com soon.
Are you looking forward to more fashion being accessible via technology? What brand are you looking forward to connecting with in a unique way online soon?

NYFW: Vera Wang Fall 2013 Ready To Wear Collection Exudes Sensual Sophistication
February 12th, 2013 by ChristenFresh from the debut of her Ready-To-Wear Fall collection, Vera Wang has once again inspired beauty, sensuality and sophistication in her designs. Very seldom can you witness a design collection that takes your breath away, but once you do experience it, it’s sure to be a moment that you’ll never forget. The Vera Wang Fall 2013 Ready To Wear Collection, may not be ready to wear everyday however the beauty of being a woman is the versatility that you have to transform your look in any way, every day.
Let’s go back to London 2012 (not London Fashion Week per se’ – moreso London shop style). Last August, while shopping in a local London boutique I discovered a beautiful metallic, monochromatic brocade dress and instantly fell in love with it. Little did I know, the Vera Wang collection would be such a sophisticate interpretation of the growing and ever-present brocade trend.

I found love in this brocade dress… (and so did Vera Wang by infusing the distinct pattern in her latest line )
Not to say that Vera Wang’s collection was inspired by my London Instagram flicks (that would be cool to think though…LOL) however, the textures and beautiful colors throughout the collection are elegant as they are sensually stunning.

Bountiful Brocade Parade: Beautiful patterns and intricate brocade details illuminate the runway in deep metallic hues and accents of deep purples, green and orange. The Vera Wang Fall Read To Wear Collection speaks sensual sophistication infused with an artful opulence without saying a single word.

Embellished prints and voluminous hip lines heightened by the moody jewel tones and plenty (plenty) of black was seen cascading down the runway. Only Vera Wang could bring such art and sincere style to a collection without sacrificing her commitment to strong, poignant trends. I am in LOVE with the classic look and feel that only richly decorative brocade fabrics can provide in design and lucky for me, there’s enough love in this Vera Wang Collection to go around.
