Hundreds of Metro Detroit’s best dressed socialites, entrepreneurs and business tycoons alike enjoyed fierce fashions and a fun night out with Founders Junior Council, Lincoln Motor Company and The Detroit Institute of Arts.
Fash Bash is an annual summer celebration of fashion and art, is one of the DIA’s signature fundraisers and one of metropolitan Detroit’s premiere, exhilarating social events that is an annual sell-out event.
Since the inception of Fash Bash, the Founders Junior Council has raised more than $4 million for the DIA, not including their recent $1 million gift commitment announced earlier this year. Guests in fashionably chic attire enjoyed a VIP cocktail reception prior to the Neiman Marcus Art of Fashion runway show featuring the latest designer fashions in the DIA’s Great Hall.
Afterward, the Lincoln Black Label late night party kicked off with drinks, dancing, and delicious bites all night long. The Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln Continental were the belles of the ball adding premium Black Label style and flare to the biggest style party in Detroit!
This is Detroit. Not bad huh? No, the city isn’t burning down in despair – as a matter of fact, it is alive, well and bursting at the seams with rich art and re-defining style everyday. While in Detroit, I decided to visit one of my favorite open art installations in the city – The Heidelburg Project. Known for its colorful backdrops of bright hues, political messaging and plenty of mixed media – this area has been around and re-defining how we look at art since 1986. Armed with a camera (a little extra time on my hands) and a crisp, sunny Spring day – take a look at my interpretation of the bright side of art and style below (…and let me know what you think!)

Detroit is a city that has had more than it’s fair share of political drama, economic turmoil and a modern-day Exodus that will go down in history. But America’s great comeback city is so much more than it’s well known home for Motown music and great American-made automobiles. As a born and raised Detroiter, I wanted to highlight just a few of my favorite things that makes the Motor City so special, starting with the largest parade of cars that brings out enthusiasts from far and wide (also known as the Mardi Gras of cars) – the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Detroit may be known for a lot of things, but after viewing each episode of this series hopefully you’ll learn how great the city really is – and re-discover “Dear Detroit”

We’re LIVE at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI and boy does it feels good to be home! With such an eclectic gathering of new concept cars, the latest in driving technology and the sexiest, stylish designs I’ve ever seen – it got me to thinking…What Would Bond Do? Bond? James Bond that is. I would undoubtedly love to be a Bond girl, but moreso – I’d love to be Bond himself, driving some of the best tricked out, super spy cars the world has ever seen…(as you can tell, I’m still on my Mission Impossible BMW high…lol). Check out the evolution of the super spy’s wheels below and let us know which set of wheels you’d like to see make a reappearance on the concept car scene.
Each car had a sleek style of it’s own – which car would have you sitting comfortable in the driver seat? Would you like to see any of these cars make a comeback as a concept car?
Tech Start Ups REJOICE! There’s a little magic coming your way in the form of cash dollars!
Legendary NBA star for the Lakers and—Michigan State alum, Earvin “Magic” Johnson has announced he has joined a tech start-up VC group, Detroit Venture Partners, and will be infusing millions of his own personal dollars into Detroit-based tech start-ups.
Detroit Venture Partners primarily incubates and funds early-stage companies working on mobile apps, cloud computing, and social networking.
While the companies that built Detroit continue to build cars somewhere else—and occasionally take a government bailout—these are some corporate citizens at least trying to do something for a city on the verge of a major comeback.
Are you a tech startup? Have a great idea? Maybe you should take a second look at Detroit and Magic Johnson…it could put dollars in your pocket!
