Kerry Washington walks the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet cascading in white amidst cloud of bold colored gowns. Dressed in a two-piece Rodarte gown complete with a split V quilted top and flowing white bottom with a lace hem. She accessorized with a silver box clutch, diamond earrings, smokey eyes and a nude lip. Ask any Scandal fan and this look definitely looks familiar…
Kerry described her look as “Olivia Pope white” while talking to E! on tonight’s 2013 SAG Awards red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A.
Could Kerry be transitioning her look to appear more like Ms. Olivia Pope? Undoubtedly the most notable Olivia Pope outfit this season was her this ball gown by designer Jean Fares Couture.

If you missed the Golden Globes this weekend you missed a marvel of Hollywood’s most spectacular red carpet glamour to kick start the 2013 awards season.
The showcase of beautiful dresses definitely left us speechless with looks straight from the runway and custom couture making their hip hugging form fitting debut on some of our more favorite celebrate celebs and straight into our living rooms.
Welcome to Divas and Dorks Best and Worst Golden Globe looks on the red carpet.
And what a way to start a fashion fire than in a hotter than hot fire engine red number! These two ladies need to come equipped with their own fire hoses!
Zooey Deshanel – Although she lost for the Best Actress Performance in a Comedy or Musical she was a sure winner on the red carpet, sizzling in a red hot strapless gown from Oscar De la Renta. She accessorized with classy pearls by Kwiat, Casadei satin platform pumps and a Christian Louboutin clutch. She definitely stayed within the more traditional awards show appropriate looks.
Claire Danes– won the award for Best Actress in a TV Series for her role in HOMELAND and although we think Zooey wins in the red dress category we also would like to honor Claire with the best snapback after a baby award! 4 Weeks ago?? YOU GO GIRL! She claims her red halter dress from Versace masters illusion and was quoted saying, “I literally can’t go to the bathroom unless I take the entire dress off.”
Who wore nude best last night? Our favorite SCANDAL actress Kerry Washington or Jennifer Lopez? (You’d never guess what our friends on Instagram said…)
J-Lo is no stranger when it comes to daring red carpet looks and this event was no exception, Although we love love love Kerry’s sheer nude colored dress from Miu Miu with crystal accents and would definitely consider it one of last night’s best dressed, Jennifer Lopez’s nude form fitting dress with white lace embroidery definitely says SCANDAL as well!
Anne Hathaway – Winner of Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in Les Miserables wowed her in her white strapless dress from non other than Chanel. The fit was perfect for her!
Others who wowed us in white included Heidi Klum in her one shoulder Alexandre Vauthier and Lea Michelle in Elie Saab. Both of these looks were superb and although neither one of them took home an award they sure left one heck of an impression! Howevere Heidi Klum definitely takes the cake as best dressed in white.
Our faves is black evening gowns were at least 10 steps ahead of your basic black.
They include Sofia Vergara (who may have lost for Best Supporting Actress in a Series or Mini Series made for TV but WON on the red carpet.) Her beaded mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline was absolutely brilliant and oozed effortless glamour. Her jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz only topped off the look. Simply elegant.
Katherine McPhee had our jaws drop down to there in her plunge vneck from Theory, the dress was definitely a showstopper making her the most talked about in the black evening gown category
Another beautiful in black included Eva Longoria, who wore Emilio Pucci. Her lace and chiffon backless dress with the plunging neckline and high leg slit wins our award for best dressed in black.
Top 3 worst dressed included our own beloved Real Housewife of Atlanta, Nene Leakes, her outfit would have been perfect, for another day at another time for a different event, just not this one.
Halle Berry also landed her self on the worst dressed list. The dress is amazing, for a beach in Hawaii with no shoes and a string bikini underneath.
And Lucy Liu, the winner of our worst dressed category, always remember Lucy that LESS is always MORE… in this case that would include less dress and less print!
Award season is officially here! The 2013 Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, are approaching with the nominations recently revealed for each category. This award ceremony acknowledges excellent achievements in cinematography and its prestigious reputation dates back to 1929. The Oscars will premiere Sunday, February 24, 2013 on ABC hosted by Family Guy’s voice and creator Seth McFarlane. Whether you love it for the the red carpet fashion, the movie recaps, or seeing the masters of ceremony and hearing great speeches, we have a few highlights of this year’s Oscars’ nominees, movies, and what to expect on this year’s red carpet.
After creating quite a buzz for the latest release of his movie last year, Quentin Tarantino’s Django is nominated for Best Movie, Cinematography, and sound editing. Let’s see if this outstanding production will take home just one, or all three. It’s unfortunate and a bit surprising, however, that Jamie Foxx nor Kerry Washington are nominated for their roles, as they were pivotal supporting characters and heavy promoters for the leading film.
Shedding that tear during the movie Flight meant something. That riveting performance by Denzel Washington set him in place for the sixth Best Actor Award nomination of his career and a chance to win this award for the third time. If you seen any of his phenomenal films, you know that Denzel almost never disappoints.
History was made with the announcement of this young actress, Quvenzhane’ Wallis, as the youngest nominee ever for the Best Actress Award. At the age of only 5, she auditioned for the role of Hushpuppy in the movie Beasts if Southern Wild; now 9 years old planning to make her appearance at the Oscars. Little people doing BIG things!
Best Supporting Actor
Considering the fact that every Best Supporting Actor nominee this year has won an Oscar, to see Robert DiNero take another one home wouldn’t be less deserving, especially for those still impressed by his award winning role in the movie Godfather. Robert DiNero is nominated for his role as Pat Sr., the sports-obsessed father of a man recently released from a psychiatric hospital in the movie Silver Linings Playbook.
Best Supporting Actress
This nomination isn’t for her role as Cat Woman in the movie Batman the Dark Knight Rises, but we can still be excited that Anne Hathaway was recognized for her second Oscar nomination of her career for the role as Fantine, a young mother who loses her job in a factory and struggles to take care of her daughter in Les Miserables. The movie is considered an Oscar glory already with more than four nominations.
The Red Carpet
Pictured below are a few of last year’s best dressed gowns. Every year, the audience is wowed by flowing gowns as artists parade in their best dress for this special occasion. Long splits and creative ways to show skin without wearing a cocktail dress is what excites most and gets people talking. This year, like every year, the standards are higher as the leading ladies of Hollywood strive to out do last year’s best dressed.
Who do you look forward to seeing on the red carpet? What fashion trends would you like to see? We want to know!
Drooling over R&B diva Keyshia Cole’s style choices lately? WE HAVE! Celebrity stylist Olori Swank has elevated her look to another level making her one to look for when she’s expected to appear at an event. So when she hit the red carpet at the 2012 Soul Train Awards we were elated to see what Olori created for Keyshia.
Keyshia Cole wore an Alexander Wang dress with Charlotte Olympia Bruce Enamel Leopard Sandals. Charlotte Olympia took a simple black peep toe heel and placed an enamel leopard atop of the toe. The Italian made shoe has a 5 ¾” heel with a 1 ¼” platform and an adjustable ankle strap.
This shoe is a great basic with a pop of fierceness thanks to the big cat perched on your toe, a small detail that true shoe love would swoon over, and if you are dying to steal some of Keyshia’s style you can head over to Neiman Marcus to purchase the $1485.00 pair of heels.
Ladies would these heels pounce into your closet, and are you feeling Keyshia Cole new look, sound off below!
Missed out on the VMA’s because you were enjoying Fashion’s Night Out festivities or attending a DNC viewing party? Here’s your snapshot of all the details, fashions highs/lows and more for you below…
Rihanna opened up the VMAs coming out of a serpent’s mouth, amazing performance of her songs “Cockiness Remix ft. ASAP Rocky” (ASAP Rocky exiting mid performance hugging & squeezing Rihanna’s butt) and “We found Love”. Kevin Hart escorted to the VMA stage with secret service midgets to presidential music which later switches over to Young Jeezy’s “My president’s is black” song. Katy Perry presented the first award of the night- “Best Pop video”- Winner: One direction “Beautiful”. Demi Lovato & Rita Ora presented- “Best Male Video”- Winner: Chris Brown, “Turn up the Music”. Zoe Saldana presented singer Frank Ocean, he performed his song “Thinking About You”– the performance was perfect. (Frank Ocean stole the show), Very deep, emotional and passionate performance. Rashida Jones & Andy Sandberg presented- “Best Hip Hop Video”- Winner: Drake ft Lil Wayne, “HYFR”. Wanted & Rebel Wilson presents” Best Female Video”- Winner : Nicki Minaj “Starships”. Ke$ha & Wiz Khalifa presents “Best New Artist ”- Winner: One Direction. Alicia Keys ft. Nicki Minaj performs her song “ Girl on Fire Remix” with Gabby Douglas showing her skills with some back flips. Kevin Hart presents the “Video of the year”- Winner: Rihanna “We found Love”. Final Performance: Taylor Swift performs “We are never getting back together”; Taylor Swifts closes out the VMAs.
We can’t decide which bodysuit was the biggest disaster – Nicki Minaj in this sheer/red number or Rita Ora’s deep sheer v-neck suit. They’re both equally dreadful in our opinion.
