Cadillac Is Bringing Something New To A Backseat Near You…

October 10th, 2012 by Christen

If you’ve been following my misadventures in babysitting via Twitter or Instagram (#DivaDoesBabysitting) over the last few days, you’ve been sure to see me rolling in the New 2013 Cadillac XTS. From stylishly riding throughout the streets of my hometown to striving from the “Aunt of The Year” award transporting my nieces and nephews around in their “spaceship” – the Cadillac XTS has gotten it’s fair share of points & stares.

Well, Cadillac is bringing a little something new to the backseat of it’s kid-friendlier Cadillac SRX – in the form of Blu-ray entertainment. The new 2013 Cadillac SRX luxury vehicles will soon start rolling off the lots, they’ll boasting something never seen before in an automobile – a Blu-ray player. The CUE in-vehicle entertainment system in Cadillac vehicles has been expanded in the SRX to include a Blu-ray player, but that’s far from the only entertainment upgrade. In the backseat, there will be two 8” touchscreen displays that can be flipped up. They can also display different things – one passenger can play video games, while the other listens to music or watches a movie. There will only be one Blu-ray player, so if you’re using that, two different movies can’t be viewed simultaneously. A connector cable sold separately will allow passengers to connect their mobile devices to the displays and watch their own movies that way.

M0bile devices can be connected without the extra cable to play music, and each passenger has room to connect their own device – in fact, you can have up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled devices connected to the car at once. A simplified remote control to handle all of that content has been made simple enough that kids, who will undoubtedly be the main beneficiaries of these features, can use it easily. No more, “Are we there yet?” outbursts or sleepy kids in the backseat, you can now look forward to highly entertained kiddies – just hope you don’t have to worry about them fighting over the remote…

Say goodbye to the days of children sleeping in the back of your Cadillac… With a new Blu-ray system…sleeping with be the last of your worries!

Bringing New York Fashion Week to a close, New York’s fashion elite emerged from a week of shows & presentations to come together in celebration of Bergdorf-Goodman’s 111th Birthday and film screening at Paris Theatre. ‘Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf’s’ presented by Cadillac is a 90-minute documentary that paints a portrait of Bergdorf’s past, present and future.

If you’re anything like me, the moment you step into 5th Ave and into Bergdorf-Goodman’s you feel overwhelmed from the sheer force of luxe fashion royalty gracing each floor (then you take a look a a price tag or two and reality quickly sets in…) However, there is no doubt that no other retailer can match the luxury that Bergdorf’s provides thousands of New Yorkers, tourists & foreign clients daily.

Including a collection of 175 of its directors, clients, employees, designers and wannabe designers share their experiences and fondest memories of New York’s finest retailer of glamour, sophistication and fashion. Directed by Mathew Mielle, the film also included guest appearance by iconic designers Michael Kors, Dianne Von Furstenberg, Vera Wang and more.

The Luxurious Style Of 2013 Cadillac XTS & The Art For Life Gala (Celebrity Pics)

July 31st, 2012 by Christen

This past weekend, Cadillac invited DivasandDorks.com as guests for a weekend in the Hamptons! Chauffeured in high style, we got the chance to enjoy the premium style of the 2013 Cadillac XTS Platinum. With the debut of the touch sensitive CUE (Cadillac User Experience) system – this posh driving experience makes it difficult to go back driving anything less luxe. CUE combines advanced technology with a simplistic user interface that makes any driving experience a joy – no matter if you’re driving down the street for errands or off for a getaway weekend. My favorite attribute about the Cadillac XTS include the Driver Awareness Package which uses the Safety Alert Seat (with vibration) to alert you of lane departure, Blind Spot & Collision warnings. It also comes equipped with Remote start, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar and its own iPad application (as part of the customer experience, each 2013 Cadillac XTS buyer will receive an iPad with their new car.)

While in the Hamptons, we got the opportunity to take advantange of all this countryside had to offer. From walks on the beach, faboulous seafood and extravagant shopping. In addition to daytime fun, we attended Russell Simmons’ Art For Life Gala at his private estate in the Hamptons. The event geared towards raising awareness and funds to encourage creativity and arts for children in schools. Hosted by Soledad O’Brien the Art For Life Gala was the toast of the Hamptons with celebs in attendance including Star Jones, Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon, Grant & Tamia Hill and more! The evening concluded with memorable performances by Diggy Simmons, Melanie Fiona, Anita Baker and Salt N Pepper and overall raised more than $200k for the Art For Life charity program.

Divas Drive In Heels: NAIAS Kicks Off With GM’s Cadillac ATS Reveal Event

January 14th, 2012 by Nicole

On January 9th the night before the 2012 Detroit Auto Show Press Preview began, GM held a revealing party for the much anticipated Cadillac ATS. This event was beyond, pleasingly graceful and stylish (just like the car). Filled with trendy food, elegant music, and modern décor – it easily made for a spectacular platform to introduce the Cadillac ATS.

The beautiful Cadillac ATS: Stylish, Sleek & Nimble!

This vehicle is light and powerful, and on the inside it gets even better. On display was the CUE system a touch screen with voice recognition; this system was top notch and user friendly.  The highlights of the ATS were on display through out the event and made for a great teaser. The final unveiling of the ATS was straight to the point that the ATS is a powerful compact luxury vehicle that will compete with the best. When asked to describe the Cadillac ATS in one word Don Butler, vice president of marketing Cadillac said, “Quick, but really you need three words.” Maybe the three words were quick nimble, and fun! GM put on an exceptional presentation that leaves you wanting for more of the ATS.  Available soon, make sure you check out Cadillac.com or visit your local Cadillac dealership to inquire about vehicle availability. If you can’t wait and want to learn more about the new Cadillac ATS – check out our first impressions HERE.

Divas Drive In Heels: (2012 NAIAS) First Impressions – 2013 Cadillac ATS

January 11th, 2012 by Christen

On Sunday – Cadillac introduced the 2013 ATS, an all-new compact luxury sports sedan intended to challenge the world’s best premium cars. Developed on an all-new, lightweight vehicle architecture, Cadillac’s entry into the world’s most significant luxury car segment goes on sale this summer in North America. “Designed with quick, nimble and fun-to-drive dynamics, ATS expands Cadillac’s portfolio into a crucial global segment,” said Don Butler, vice president of marketing for Cadillac. “For a new group of luxury consumers, this is a car that will fit their lifestyle and challenge the segment’s status quo.” The ATS is offered with Cadillac CUE, a comprehensive, in-vehicle experience that merges intuitive design with auto industry-first controls and commands for information and entertainment data. It is designed to be unique for each consumer, from the “simple user” to the fully connected “super user.”

CUE, which stands for Cadillac User Experience, pairs entertainment and information data from up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, USBs, SD cards and MP3 players with a vehicle infotainment system that reduces complexity through customized information, voice commands and fewer buttons and larger icons. For example, most of today’s luxury cars have around 20 buttons controlling the radio and entertainment functions. CUE has only four.

In addition to CUE, the ATS is offered with other technologies, including:

  • Bluetooth phone connectivity with voice recognition
  • USB, auxiliary and SD memory card ports
  • SiriusXM Satellite Radio with three-month trial subscription
  • Keyless access and keyless push-button start
  • Reconfigurable 5.7-inch instrument panel cluster display
  • Full-color reconfigurable heads-up display.
