In just a few hours, Apple is going to blow your mind and make news headlines announcing its’ new additions to the already epic lineup. It’s a tech press holiday and we’re ready for Apple to “loop” us in to what’s new, what’s now and what’s next from Cupertino. Let’s talk iPads, iPhones and Apple Watches shall we? We’ve combed through the rumors and image leaks and scored some exclusive details of what’s launching at today’s Apple event below!
Software Updates for everyone
In case you haven’t been keeping track, Apple has already pushed seven beta versions of iOS 9.3 to testers. At this point, we’d say the company is very close to pulling the final build out of the oven. And really, what better opportunity to show off new features like Night Shift (which adjusts the screen by reducing blue light and enhancing “warmer” colors when it’s dark) and Touch ID protection for Notes.app than with a new iPhone. Then again, iOS 9.3 is also said to pack an improved dashboard for Apple Health and expanded support for 3D Touch gestures on first-party apps, so there’s a little something for everyone here.
Say hello to a smaller iPhone
If the latest iPhones still feel a bit large and cumbersome in your hands and pockets, you’re in luck! We’ve seen the new images of the latest iPhone with a 4-inch display and a design that reminds you of the old iPhone 5 (remember those?) While the outside may look familiar, the inside will likely have the A9-M9 chip combo that powers the iPhone 6s. Be on the look out for a 12-megapixel camera that shoots LIVE photos and 4K video, along with a Touch ID sensor and NFC for Apple Pay. The question is, will it or won’t it come equipped with 3D Touch? It will certainly be less expensive than the iPhone 6s – so expect a few shortcomings for the newer, smaller iPhone SE.
When the iPad Pro first launched, we were amazed at the robust features packed into the large tablet. It rivaled many Apple Air notebooks and didn’t take off as expected due to it’s large 12.9 inch size. Well today, Apple is expected to launch a smaller version of last year’s iPad Pro with a 9.7-inch display. The new iPad will feature a fast A9X chipset, speakers etched into each corner and a Smart Connector to provide access for keyboard cases and other accessories. One more thing – expect to see an LED flash on the new portable iPad Pro – it’ll make portable photography that much better.
Apple Watch Updates
The Apple Watch could possibly be the biggest update of them all. We’re expecting a new software update, a handful of new bands and dare we say – a new Apple Watch? Starting with the software, Watch OS 2.2 will allow users to link multiple watches to a single iPhone, plus a bigger and better Maps interface. As far as the new Apple bands “loop” in, we’re expecting to see more Hermes bands and newer Milanese loop band options too. Could we see a refreshed version of the Apple Watch with a FaceTime camera? We certainly hope so, but just like you – we’ll be waiting to see what’s unveiled later today.

Are you an Apple Watch owner who anxious awaits for the moment your wearable does everything you could ever dream or imagine? After days of delay, yesterday Apple released the first watchOS update ever – and it’s a pretty big deal!
watchOS is the operating system that runs on the Apple Watch, much like iOS runs on iPhones and iPads and OS X runs on Macs. While watchOS has taken design cues from iOS 8, it’s been built from the ground up for the Apple Watch, with features and apps that take advantage of all of the hardware in the device.
Along with these new developer tools, watchOS 2 brings two new watch faces and a feature called Time Travel, displaying future complication info like weather and calendar events. watchOS 2 also introduces a new Nightstand mode that’s activated while the Apple Watch is charging, plus it improves Mail, adds support for FaceTime Audio, allows multiple colors for sketches, and lets users add more than 12 friends.
Because I be up in the gym, just working on my fitness – I want to share my #ThickFit accomplishments with friends! watchOS 2 adds new health and fitness achievements, with new trophy icons that can be shared with friends over social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
Siri is able to answer more requests and do additional tasks with watchOS 2, like starting specific workouts with the command “Siri, start an 30-minute indoor run,” or “Siri, start a 45-minute outdoor walk.” Siri is also able to open specific Glances, even those that are not present in the Glances menu. If you want to get a quick look at Twitter but don’t have the Glance activated, you can still ask Siri to open the Twitter Glance.
iOS 9 brings transit information to Maps, and with watchOS 2, Siri is able to provide directions that include transit routes, as long as you’re in one of the cities where transit directions are available. Transit directions are available in the following places: Baltimore, Berlin, Chicago, London, Mexico City, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, Washington D.C., and several cities in China. Siri can also look up words in the dictionary and calculate tips on command.
In the original version of watchOS, Apple’s Mail app only allows users to view and organize email. With watchOS 2, Mail supports dictation, so you can send replies to email messages directly from your wrist. You can also reply with emoji or preset responses like in Messages. Who needs to fumble with email responses on your smartphone when you can conquer your inbox with the flick of da wrist?
Apple’s not ready to let developers create third-party watch faces just yet, but watchOS 2 does introduce two new watch face options designed by Apple. The first is a photo watch face that takes advantage of the photos stored on your Apple Watch, letting you pick a photo or an album of photos to use as your watch face. If you pick an album, the Apple Watch will display a different photo each time you lift your wrist, cycling through all of the available selections. If you pick a single photo, it’ll always show the same image. If you pick an album, the Apple Watch will display a different photo each time you lift your wrist, cycling through all of the available selections. If you pick a single photo, it’ll always show the same image.
The second watch face is a dynamic Time-Lapse face that displays videos shot over 24 hours in different locations around the world, including Hong Kong, London, Mack Lake, New York, Shanghai, and Paris. When you glance at your watch, the image will be different based on the time. For example, with the New York watch face, if you look at your watch at 10:00 a.m., you’ll see a sunny skyline. If you look at your watch at 10:00 p.m., it’ll be dark and you’ll see a skyline filled with lights.
Nightstand mode is a new feature that’s activated whenever the Apple Watch is placed on its side when connected to the charger, allowing it to better function as an alarm clock. In this mode, the Apple Watch illuminates whenever the screen or Digital Crown is pressed, clearly displaying the time. Nightstand mode also changes the function of the buttons on the Apple Watch when used as an alarm. When an alarm sounds, the side button turns it off while the Digital Crown acts as a snooze button.
These are just a few of my favorite watchOS 2 features keeping me connected in this ever-changing world. What about you? What are some of your favorite new features of the watchOS 2 – share your new favorite features in the comments section below.
Apple’s Unveiling The New iPhone RIGHT NOW! (PLUS 5 #AppleEvent Innovations The World Will Be Talking About) [LIVE BLOG]September 9th, 2015 by Christen
Let’s go! It’s September 9th and there’s no better day than our (6th year anniversary) than to spend our afternoon salivating over today’s Apple Event announcements. This could be one of the biggest Apple events ever, happening right now in San Francisco. Apple CEO Tim Cook may introduce as many as three new phones (including an iPhone 6S), a redesigned Apple TV set-top box and a 12.9-inch, business-friendly iPad tablet.
While rumors abound, do not expect a radical redesign of the iPhone. We’ll learn release dates for iOS 9 and the OS X update El Capitan; the Apple Watch is getting some stage time, too, with WatchOS 2.
Follow along with us below. You can also watch Apple’s live stream online.
Discover the live updates below!
The Apple Watch Sport is currently available in silver and space gray. It didn’t really make sense not to have a gold option for gold iPhone owners. For those who want a matching watch, rejoice! Apple heard you. You can now buy a gold Apple Watch Sport in its full aluminum glory.
When it comes to the new bands, Apple is partnering with Hermès on a new collection. It starts with a new hand-stitched leather “double tour” band. This band is going to be available in select stores in October.
It looks and feels like a bigger iPad Air, with an aluminium casing, thin bezels and curved edges. It features a 2,732 x 2,048 display that lets you display more stuff. For instance, you are now able to take advantage of the recently announced split-screen multitasking to run two apps side by side with very few compromises. It’s also a great device to take advantage of the picture-in-picture video playback feature in iOS 9. Starting at $799 – it’ll be available online and in stores come November!
iPad Pro – Apple Pencil
Apple also announced a smart keyboard accessory, which looks a lot like the Surface keyboard cover. You connect it to your iPad Pro thanks to a new smart connector on the side, as well as the Apple Pencil, a stylus. Priced at $99 it’ll be available online and in stores come November!
iPad Pro with Microsoft Office
Today’s Apple Event wouldn’t be complete without guests! And Apple invited Microsoft executive to talk productivity on the go! Microsoft’s goal is to make the best apps it can and to get as many people using them so that it can sell them some of its more specialized services. Office has long been the go-to suite of productivity tools, and — while they debuted on the iPad a bit late — Microsoft is still pushing for Office to take that role in the tablet world as well. So far there’s no obvious winner in the tablet productivity world, and having a great choice will be important once the iPad Pro is released.
One of today’s most anticipated Apple event announcements is the new Apple TV. Apple Tv is making it easy and exciting to watch tv again. From exclusive digital content to the unique remote – the Apple TV may become your favorite entertainment device later this year. Apple TV Pricing: 32gb $149 64gb $199
iPhone 6s / 6s Plus
So what’s new with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus? It responds to the pressure of your finger and totally changes the way you use your device. It shoots 4k video. Now your screen is the flash. You can get it in rose gold. Your photos move now and the price is the same as the original iPhone 6 and 6+… starting at $199 and offering installment plans – it’s pretty much a great new deal on a new iPhone and all available September 25.
Stay tuned for more in depth details on today’s Apple event announcements including the new Apple Watch colors/accessories, iPad Pro, Pencil, Apple TV and iPhone 6s / 6s Plus later today.

There are tons of Apple iPhone and Apple Watch consumers spending thousands on the latest accessories to customize their gadgets. Outfitting your technology with accessories that reflect your personality is not only a great way for self-expression, but it’s also a way to showcase your personal style.
No other company gives consumers the opportunity to showcase their personal style quite like Case-Mate. I’ve outfitted plenty of my gadgets with Case-Mate cases and accessories from the iPhone 3 to the iPhone 6s and now my Apple Watch has a few stylish options to choose from too!
The Turnlock Band for Apple Watch 38mm is a “totally rad” ode to the 90’s in vibrant “shocking pink”. The bangle-styled band creates a fashionable look that’ll add a flair to any Apple Watch wearing wrist. The signature logo-engraved metal charm is also a cute add on for this slip-on style watch band.
The flexible elastomer band for 38mm Apple Watch fits wrist sizes up to 7.75 inches, however small wristed gals beware, one size doesn’t fit all. The band was a little too loose for my particular taste, as it commonly twisted and twirled around my tiny wrist.
As cute as it looks, I also wonder if my watch was actually able to measure some of the health measurements like heart rate and exercise — since the watch never actually stayed in place flat against my arm, there’s possibility that there’s a lapse in data recorded from the Apple Watch sensor on the back of the watch.
Overall it’s definitely a cute accessory to add to your Apple watch band collection. Since the Apple Watch is fairly new, I’m sure there will be more than plenty of enough options coming out of the Case-Mate collection.
For now, you can get your hands on your own Turnlock band or the Rebecca Minkoff band collection or check out my personal favorite – the Milanese Loop band. Add a few of your favorite bracelets and bangles to create a stylish arm party of your own.
When she blends her lip color to match her new tech accessory perfectly… That’s so @DivasAndDorks! I love styling my Apple Watch accessory with bright bands and plenty of bling, and if you’re anything like me, then the Turnlock band from Case-Mate is definitely a stylish accessory that you’d want to add to your accessory closet too.

The Apple watch has plenty of noteable features, but they don’t mean a thing if they’re not applicable to you and the way you work and play EVERYDAY! If you’re planning on traveling this summer, why not put Apple’s latest wrist wear to good use! Discover a few ways I’ll be using my Apple Watch for summer travel and plan to make the most of your Apple Watch on your next vacation below!
Travel by Plane, Train or Automobile:
No matter if you’re checking into your flight, booking your next rail ride or catching an Uber – Apple watch has an app for that! If you’re a frequent flyer of JetBlue, Delta and British Airways your favorite app has just found a new home on your wrist. JetBlue gives you access to flight status and related information such as gate, flight and terminal numbers, along with a scannable barcode so you don’t have to pull out paperwork while juggling luggage; it also gives you a travel countdown to make sure you get to the flight on time. Delta and British Airways have also released Watch apps that offer similar functionality.
Not a JetBlue, Delta or British Airways customer? No worries – there are alternatives! Frequent travelers should check out these apps from services like TripAdvisor, which lets you view your trip information, see reviews, ratings and even images of your destination. If you’re more focused specifically on flight info, you’ll want FlightTrack 5, which delivers flight notifications, status, gate changes, as well as flight progress and related information.
Whether you’re planning a last minute Hotels.com purchase or if you’re a loyalist to a specified hotel brand, there are some new apps that can help check you in/out with ease and even “unlock” a whole new world while in use.
Mobile check-in and arrival and departure information is standard for most hotel apps. Some also feature loyalty information, while only Starwood offers wearers the ability to use the Watch as a key to enter rooms at W Hotels, Aloft, and Element properties. Accor will alert wearers that online check-in is open, too.
IHG’s app is all about Dick Tracy-style translation. The hotel has had success with a similar iPhone app, so it ported over certain features to the wrist.
Working It Out:
Love keeping fit but could use a little extra push to stick to your fitness regimen while on vacation? If you’re into quick workouts, try the VimoFit 7 Minute Workout app. It guides you through a variety of exercises directly on the Watch. Since the app store is stocked full of great apps, RunKeeper isn’t the only running app to have a Watch counterpart: Argus, Map My Runand Runtastic have also been updated with Watch support.
What are you looking forward to discovering first on the Apple Watch device? How do hope the Apple Watch will improve your life? More productivity, less starring at your smartphone? Share your feelings about how to use the Apple Watch in the comments below!
As the Apple Watch officially goes on sale in upmarket stores around the world, Goldgenie’s in-house artisans are busy commencing the customisation of the devices for their pre-ordering clients.
From today, the Apple Watches are available to take home from high end retailers in fashion capitals around the world but the stylish smart watches are not yet available to buy in-house from physical Apple stores and instead customers are being pointed to order the devices from Apple’s online stores. While those who got there first with their pre-orders on April 10th will benefit from shipments from today, many customers will have to wait a few weeks before their Apple Watch is dispatched.
Goldgenie had an unprecedented level of pre-orders for designs from their Luxury Customised Apple Watch Spectrum range and due to the company’s established relationships with premium Apple resellers, a limited number of certain models from the Apple Watch range have been reserved for their clients and therefore customisation can begin soon after an order is placed.
Goldgenie’s customised Apple Watch Spectrum collection, which stems from their iPhone 6 luxury customisations, ranges from the Apple Watch Elite, embellished in a choice of 24k Gold, Rose Gold or Platinum to the striking 18k Gold Apple Watch Diamond Ecstasy, embedded with hundreds of diamonds and finished with a 1 carat brilliant cut gem in the crown. Goldgenie’s designers have also created a range of luxury straps in exotic python and crocodile skins and sumptuous calfskin, alongside classic link straps in their signature precious metal finishes.
Laban Roomes, CEO and Founder of Goldgenie, received his Apple Watch today and is looking forward to becoming accustomed to this innovative new piece of wearable technology. “I believe the Apple Watch will change the way we see and manage our time. Time is the greatest luxury and like everything else in our modern times, it has now become customisable and we are excited to be customising this new face of time with our beautiful finishes.”
