Powered Up Protection With The @OtterBox Resurgence Case [Review]
You’re low on battery power and there’s no power outlet in sight — what do you do? There’s no greater feeling of anxiety or power planning remorse than when your smartphone power indicator reads 1%. Luckily, full mobile protection just got an upgrade with the powered up Resurgence case by OtterBox. Otterbox has just launched the latest in their suite of stylish, yet functional smartphone accessories. The Otterbox Resurgence collection offers high-speed charging technology in a sleek yet case design.
The Resurgence case comes prepackaged with a two-piece snap designed case, mini usb cord and headphone jack extender. Resurgence is made up of a formulated polycarbonate to improve impact from drops and bumps. A metallic finish with soft touch coating gives the power case a polished look and pleasant feel during in hand use.
The Resurgence power case comes pre-charged but in order to obtain a full charge you simply connect the USB to a power source. When connected to a power source the phone charges first, then the case begins to charge.
The Resurgence battery case supports both wired and wireless syncing without removing the case and includes a headphone jack extender which doubles as a headphone cord keeper. The mini USB connects to the case which is already equipped with a iPhone lightning adapter – if you’re like me an use multiple devices, you can now toss your iPhone usb cord in a drawer because this case eliminates the need for carrying multiple USB cords at once.
The headphone jack extender/cord keeper is a necessary accessory only if you like to remove your headphones often. Otherwise, its a bit cumbersome a feels like an extra accessory that’s easy to misplace or lose. In the future, I’d like to see a design with the extender built-in (the less unnecessary accessories, the better).
The 2000 milliamp (mAh) Resurgence case doubles the battery life of your iPhone (or Samsung) device. The iPhone 5s battery case utilizes auto-stop technology, which conveniently shuts off the case when the phone has reached a full charge, saving extra battery power for later and eliminating the need to closely watch the device’s battery level when charging.
To view case the case charge level, simply tap the status LED button on the front of the case. The button will blink three times and the final illumination of the four lit sections will identify available case power in 25% increments.
Overall, the Resurgence power case is an essential addition to your iPhone 5/5s. It looks great, feels great and has the functionality of keeping you charged while on the go. Now if only we could figure out a way to add the OtterBox Commuter Wallet function to the power case… a girl can dream, right?
Resurgence power cases are now available in black, glacier, teal shimmer or satin rose on at select retail locations for $99.95. For more information or to order online visit OtterBox.com.
