FINALLY! Instagram App Arrives On Windows Phones Everywhere

Instagram Windows Final

Instagram is now available on your Windows smartphone. It’s looking pretty good on the Nokia 928 from Verizon Wireless.

If you’re one of the many Windows phone users whose gripes heard around the world shared disappointment that the Instagram app was unavailable on your device, we finally have great news for you!  This morning, (just in time for the celebrated “selfie”)  Instagram is now on Windows Phone. The breakout photo/video sharing app that established itself on iPhone before spreading to Android in 2012 is now on the third-place platform in mobile. Although the app is here, it’s not the fully supported app that iOS and Android users know and love.  Microsoft says the “beta” version of Instagram that’s arriving on Windows phones today doesn’t support video capture and uploading, tagging photos, viewing geotaxis and in-app camera capture.

The Instagram app has it’s own LIVE tile for your windows phone home screen too.

Today Instagram announced:

When we launched Instagram for Android in March of 2012, the community was 30 million strong and growing fast. The Instagram community is now more than 150 million people and reaches every corner of the globe. We’ve also seen the rise of a new mobile platform as tens of millions of people around the world have taken to Windows Phones. Our mission is to give everyone the ability to capture and share the moments around them, so our team has been working hard to bring Instagram to Windows Phone users everywhere.

We wanted to make Instagram available to people with Windows Phones as quickly as possible, so we focused on creating an awesome experience with Instagram’s core features. We’re not finished, and our team will continue developing the Windows Phone app to keep releasing features and bringing you the best Instagram possible.

Windows phones, specifically the Nokia devices are known for having superior cameras that create remarkable photos.  Now that Instagram is available, it could give Windows users a leg up in the mobile photography game.  Now that Windows phones are getting more and more access to your favorite apps, would you consider becoming a Windows phone user?  Are you interested in checking out the new Instagram Beta app for Windows?  Discover more in the windows store today.
