CES + Las Vegas = Great Expectations…

As the new year has fully arrived (in full frigid fashion) – I am ready for one of the biggest conferences of the year!  The International Consumer Electronics Show is the world’s largest consumer electronics tradeshow.  (think of it as the Disney World of electronics for geeks, nerds and dorks…)

Over a year ago, I aimlessly wandered into the Las Vegas Convention Center as a new blogger but moreover as a complete fanatic of all things gadget & tech.  As my first major conference, I had all the ingrediants for a CES disaster:

1.  I arrived to the conference later than I actually expected on Thursday vs Tuesday as originally planned.

2.  I had no set schedule & planned to take on almost 3,000 vendors and 1.6 million net square feet of exhibit space all by myself…Whaaaaa?

3.  Did I mention, I went to CES all by myself?  NOT COOL!

This year however, things will be different.  I’m a little stronger, wiser & absolutely ready to get it on at CES.  With my calendar filling up faster than ever, I have over 72 hours filled with plans, meetings and partying in Las Vegas January 10th – 13th.  And with all this planning comes a huge bag, filled with electronic expectations, technical anticipation and an outrageous outlook on how this year’s CES experience will be.

iLounge Pavillion

There’s the iLounge pavilion, a section devoted to Apple-related products, which has grown huge this year. The iLounge has expanded from 4,000 square feet in 2008 to 85,000. As much as I (as well as you readers) enjoy Apple related products, I’m sure there’ll be plenty to report on, so expect to see DivasandDorks exploring this section of CES 2012 in a big way.

In addition to the variety of products available to check out I’m really looking forward to checking out all of the new ultrabooks, new DSLR and CSC cameras, Android tablets running Ice Cream Sandwich, Next-gen game consoles, Windows 8 news, Beautiful OLED TVs and the smarter cars & accessories to go with them.

What else am I expecting to check out at CES next week?  Engadget has some great preview points that has me excited to see what happens next.
